Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta: Known Issues & Fixes

I only saw the tips to remove the recycling bins, that didn't help. I'll move the furnaces inside the house and see how that works out

 

That has ALWAYS been like that for carrying items.

 

I dunno if anyone's said this before, but we just experienced that when we upgraded a watering can (like we'd handed in the basic one to Clint to get the copper one), one of the players got a mail about a lost tool on the day that the can was due to be picked up - so now we have 4 watering cans (3 basic and 1 copper) even though we're only 3 players... I assume it's happened because the can I handed in to upgrade originally belonged to the player who got mail about it? Since we'd just randomly dumped our tools in a chest.

Edit: Same thing just happened with the axe. Duplicate tools everywhere, and we can't destroy or sell them...

 

Fisher profession bonus is not working for farmhands

1. Farmhand reaches level 5 fishing and chooses the Fisher profession.
2. The farmhand sells fish and all players go to bed.
3. At the screen that shows the profit, the farmhand sees a 25% increase on his fish, but the host farmer does not. I believe the actual money that is earned is also based on the host, so the 25% bonus is not applied.

Building the bridge on the beach does not update for other players.
1. Host and farmhand are both on the beach.
2. Host builds the bridge on the beach that costs 300 wood (access to eastern island with coral)
3. Farmhand does not see the bridge and cannot walk over it until the farmhand re-enters the map.

(Known bug that needs more details) Frame rate drop on farm in evening (some have reported removing the recycling machine helps)
1. Farmhand places recycling machine outside on the farm
2. Wait until evening (6 PM and later?)
3. Game starts stuttering really bad.
To resolve it, remove the recycling machine and then restart the game.
The farmhand has uses the recycling machine a handful of times, usually letting it finish offscreen.
The stuttering appeared after a few days when the host was in the mine and the farmhand went back to the farm.

 

ONLY LAN OPTION POSSIBLE SECOND FIX

So the fix mentioned by vizv didn't work for me, so i wanted to uninstall this and i saw i have newer version of c++ redist (2015 to be exact (for x86 based systems)) I've uninstalled only this and the option to join via invite code appeared. So if the fix of vizv didn't work for you either you can give a shot uninstalling redist of 2015

You would probably still need the 2013 one though

 

I know it's already written in the main notice at the top of this thread, but the framedrop is getting out of hand in my game. First it started at around 8pm with slight lagging, now, if I don't go to sleep before 5pm, I have to restart the day bc it completely freezes. This makes the game unplayable for me rn.

 

I'm not sure if this has been reported or not.

I have been hosting a game and playing with two friends without any major problems until today when we returned to the game.

Now when one of my friends tries to join my game crashes.

My friend had added new flooring and wallpaper to her cabin, later when she upgraded the cabin the flooring was gone and the wallpaper was only covering half of the wall. She then tried to place more flooring and wallpaper but nothing changed.

From the log it looks like its related to missing wallpaper.

Having some connectivity issues. Playing with 3 players on a server. When I host the other players lag uncontrollably and constantly crash. When the others host the server they can happily play with no issues but when I play on their server I can see everything they do in real time but they cannot see me and I am unable to travel to different areas (Getting stuck on loading screen). Now my first thoughts were my internet speeds must not be up to scratch but after several tests from my friends and myself we found our speeds were very similar so I didnt think the speeds were an issue. After spending the next 2 hours doing a lil research I tried to see if this could be a port forwarding issue? but am unable to find anywhere that talks about how the porting works.

As far as i can tell nobody else seems to have this issue but hopefully someone else is and can let me know so i know im not crazy and should not through my modem out the window.

PS This was tested with the updated 1.3.6 and the update 1.3.5 before.

 

Also having a LOT of desync issues, especially so when playing with friends from Canada. Basically making the game completely unplayable for both me and them, as they have to wait to pass out for the day to change. By the time they pass out, it will still opnly be 9-10am

 

So I'm playing the beta with one friend (both Windows 10), and we've spent a fair amount of time messing around. The main bugs/weird issues we've experienced have been related to the passage of time.

- NPCs will walk away while the dialogue box is still open because it doesn't pause time.
- Upon accidentally playing the Prairie King until 2 am, we both were sent back to the farm, but the music from the game kept playing even after the day's results page. We closed the game and the song quit upon reopening. (Possibly disable the game since without time pause this sort of thing can happen without realizing?)
- I got into bed and was waiting for my friend, who didn't manage to get to her bed in time. The game froze black for me until she walked out of her cabin and fully collapsed. It freaked us both out because normally the player can pass out anywhere, so leaving the house was an odd prerequisite.

Sorry if there's not much detail. We can try to reproduce some of these at our next play session if that will help. Thank you for your time!

 

When two or more players grab an item from a furnace at the same time it duplicates it. If you were to get iridium it would be crazy. Please fix this bug.

 

so i have had this bug thing so it was the stardew vally fair my friend went the fishing minygame i went and talked about the event about that 1st 2d 3rd place thing when he was done and we could get the points he couldnt move anymore and then crahsed every time he rejoined my game would stop and when i went into the fishing game when he was not in the game i would not be able to move we also tried finishing it and going to the next day we tried reinstalling

 

I'm running the latest version, still got the problem.

 

-Enemies don't receive knockback from players that aren't the host
-The Museum seems to be out of sync with players, items placed in the museum can just disapear when another player walks in
-When placing an item in the museum you can keep placing it and removing it and everyone will get notified that player donated that item everytime it's placed again which spams the chat
-When you rappitly try to give something to another player and don't select yes there's a chance that your character won't be able to move and your controls get all locked up
-Distance walked doesn't get saved if you disconnect before the day ends

 

The gifts don't reset in my game since I installed the beta. I already gave some people gifts bevore I installed the beta they don't reset. But also the people I gave gifts after installing the beta don't reset. Seems like they don't reset at all. I already played through two Sundays.

 

- Pause Menu community center bundles may be bugged for farmhands, mine still shows only the crafts room and none of the bundles completed despite having completed spring foraging and spring crops. If I am inside the community center, the pause menu is correct, but leaving the center results in the pause menu returning to its bugged state
- Items which have been donated to the museum still show up in farmhand inventory as "gunther can tell you more about this if you donate it to the museum", possibly only if the item was collected before the donation was made? Will test further.

 

None of these patches mean anything to me if i can't even boot up the game without crashing.

 

(Fixed) Wallpaper disappeared, not applyable.

This.... But for FLOORS. I assumed floors was implied in the bug but I guess I was wrong.

the ONLY floor in the entire house I can change is the upstairs left room.
