Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta: Known Issues & Fixes

I have noticed two bugs while playing the beta last night. First, my friends and I will hear sounds of each other opening doors, and activating things, no matter if we are in the same area or across the map. Secondly, when going through the caves, if I was to open a chest and decided to not take the boots so my friend could go into the chest and grab them instead, the chest ends up just disappearing and we lose whatever was inside.

Just two things that were noteable to mention and are probably a good idea to fix before full release

 

With the whole LAN bug,
I tried playing the beta on my laptop at first and when I opened it I had the issue that there was only the LAN option to join games.
Inviting through steam didn't help much either.
Then when I'm hosting there is no friend code option/ invite option. Only server mode, accept IP connections, and enable new character creation.
Re-installing wouldn't fix it
Waiting didn't fix it
Even making sure to delete the entire stardew folder didn't fix it when i reinstalled a second time.

Fortunately in my house there is a PC Tower, So I went and tried that to see if I still had the same issue. To my surprise that computer even though I was on the same steam account, didn't have the same issues.
I also thought maybe opening my steam on another computer might fix my laptop but I checked and the LAN issue is still on my laptop but not the PC Tower.
That's all the info I have and if anyone wants me to try some other stuff for more information or test some things I'll definitely give it a shot.

My laptop is a HP Laptop with Windows 10
64 bit operating/ 64 based processor
Windows defender is the only antivirus i have RN

all my saves are glitched into wearing the same boots.

 

Me and my friend have been playing and have encountered some issues.

Sometimes when I'm fishing by the river i hear my friend cutting grass with his scythe back on the farm.

We found out that we were able to duplicate items in town. We cannot recreate it but he tried to drop parsnips for me and we both picked them up at the same time. I don't know whether it's because i just came out of Pierres shop and tried to pick them up or what. We doubled our income though so we were happy.

My friend was able to see my fishing line on his screen on the opposite end of town, when he came to see me, I appeared invisible.

We were also having some issues with quests. We could get around it but it was just a bit annoying.

Good update though. Very fun.

 

What are your laptop characteristics?? (Windows, antivirus config...etc.)

 

i am having a bug when i am playing with a friend and almost every night my game crashes my friend is the host i have put my 4 last log files with this post/reply

 

Is it possible we can get an answer why the animal bugs and the bugs I reported weren't included on this list? (Even a "These aren't actual bugs" would be useful)

Is your second character a giraffe

 

Not sure if this is a bug, but whenever my friend and I enter a cut-scene around evening time (somewhere around (7PM to 10PM), it would always end the cut-scene somewhere around 1:00AM-2:00AM in game time, which would then cause us to pass out from it being too late with no chance of making it back to our cabins. Cut-scenes in the morning would also jump the in-game time from somewhere as early as 8:00AM all the way to 6:00PM, essentially causing us to almost lose an entire day.

 

There is a sound bug i encountered in multiplayer, when my friend was in the cave fighting flies, and while i was outside of the cave fishing, I could hear the buzzing of the fly constantly. This happens at anytime of the day. The buzzing stops when i exit mountain side area.

 

Question: Was the crash at the mines fixed or no? it was reported several times last night, but I don't see it in the list of fixed/in development/need more details bugs at all.

 

My husband and I just started playing mutiplayer, and we've noticed that if you've talked to a villager (possibly after exhausting what they have to say to you) you can't click on them for continued attempts at conversation. Not game-breaking obviously, but maybe a bug? Both of us have noticed this. I did a quick search to see if someone reported that already, but if someone has apologies for the duplication. We're going to keep playing, but I'll check if you need more details. We're literally on day 2 of a new save file on Steam. Both on Windows 10.

 

There's a visual error when playing with your baby. Also Wallpapers are not working.

 

Whenever I try to join a multiplayer game, it always take a long time stuck at the connecting screen. But it will always says connection failed. I cannot seem to join any game nor can anyone join my games. I checked my steam settings and the in game settings and there's nothing stopping connections. I've tried connecting with my firewall turned off and my antivirus turned off, nothing work. I can't play multiplayer at all.

 

There is an issue with players being minutes behind in the actions they were doing and where they said they were standing. I watered an area that my friend already watered but on my screen, she was not anywhere near me and the area wasn't watered yet. On her screen, I was standing right next to her. We had delays up to like a full 3 or 4 minutes of what they said they were doing.

 

Having the same issue.

 

Potential Bug:
Rewards for each 10 levels of the mine discovered are only obtainable once. This causes progression to be difficult, as it's hard to gear up all players for further adventures in the mine without everyone getting these floor rewards.

ALSO: one of these rewards (lv 100) is the Stardrop, so basically one player will permanently have more stamina than everyone else, as far as I understand it.

I found a duplicating glitch, i have no idea how to recreate it but i was gonna drop 83 wood to my friend and when i picked it up it changed to 166 wood.
He was standing next to me.
I tried it more and more but after some time it just showed as a visual bug (it duped in the item window that shows up when you pick up stuff in the left corner), it didn't duplicate anymore.

 

I played with a friend for the first time in beta last night and we encounter a couple bugs. I didn't go through all 43 pages of this thread, but they aren't solved on the first message yet.

1. When I encountered my first geode, instead of showing off the geode, it showed off the stone I got instead. The same happened to my friend later on when he got his first geode. It showed the stone in his hands, not the geode.

2. I've also had the fishing bug. Unfortunately, I did not take a screenshot (I will if it happens again) but I entered the map with Robin's house where my friend was fishing in the lake, but his character was positioned on my screen all the way down where you leave the map and his fishing line arched all the way to the water where he was actually fishing. The bug fixed itself when he reeled his line back in.

3. We have also experienced being able to hear everything the other person is doing within the map as if we were right next to each other. If we're both home and I'm watering plants, he can hear it directly in his ear no matter where in the map he is, and vice versa.
