Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta: Known Issues & Fixes

    year 3 Egg Festival never happened. Both my daughter and I got the Mail for it and the reminder ... on the day of, we both go in to town but the Egg Festival isn't set up. It was just another day in Stardew Valley. Has anyone run in to that?

      Sometimes when I got to collect wine it will close the whole game, nothing pops up. Attached files, has happened a couple times so far. (so far just the Wine, which is in the Quarry if you want to try to duplicate it)

        Love the game. Had an issue in the multiplayer beta just now. I was playing solo on my co-op game, Fall festival was in full swing, doing some of the mini-games. When I accepted to do the fishing mini-game, I was in the room with the pool/pond and as soon as I went to cast the game locked up with the cast power bar sitting over my head. Time was still counting down and music still going, but no inputs would get through. Controller, keyboard, and mouse weren't responding, though mouse pointer was. The game was still 'responsive', as I had checked on the ctrl+alt+del menu, but was pretty much unplayable and had to end the program, thus losing my progress for that day.

            Experiencing strange behavior (as a farmhand, not a host) when using the horse, such as having it float around behind me when I dismount anywhere other than the farm, and having it appear under me automatically when re-entering such zones. When my character (farmhand) is not on that screen, the host will see the horse running in place where it was left (ie. at the minecart at the bus stop).

            In addition, we are noticing with increasing frequency that a field of fully planted and watered crops/seeds will randomly have a spot not grow overnight, and remain watered the next morning. This is happening in both the multiplayer beta and in my file that I only play on the pre-1.3 version (as in I opt out of the beta in Properties before loading my solo game, and opt back in whenever I play on my firned's co-op farm).

            PS: We're also experiencing disappearing Museum items, some of which for certain were moved via the donation screen by farmhands. It also seems like despite having filled the Library with all Lost Books, farmhands keep digging them up.

            All of these are documented with video evidence.

              Whenever my friend starts a server and I try to join it keeps disconnecting us constantly over and over. This happens both ways

                And, maybe, a temporary fix, sell using the RIGHT CLICK

                  I am in a server with two other players and we just began year 2, upon going to sleep after planting 450+ seeds and tending to the animals, my client closes without warning or delay. This crash only occurs when we go to bed for the night trying to begin the next day.

                    Hi! I just tried out the beta for the first time and wanted to share a few bugs that we discovered while playing. (I hope this is the right place to do that.)
                    1. As the non-host player, I can't switch between the community center pages when you look at them from your inventory menu--it only shows the craft room, even if I click on the arrows. (The host player's acts as normal.)
                    2. As the non-host player, there were times where I couldn't give a gift to or even speak to townspeople even though I had not yet spoken to them or given them a gift that day. Not really sure what factors might have been relevant there, but I'll keep an eye out for it in the future.

                    I hope this is helpful, the multi-player idea is really awesome. Great job! :)

                      Currently in game and my husband is the guest he accidentally hit the crystalerium sp? That we got from the cc with his pickaxe and it turned into an empty chest. Also just saw that he cant see part of my pathway that I put down by the farmhouse. Not as important.

                        So, a deep dive into the "place bomb and fences on floor 120 bug" produced the following interesting results

                        Most noticeable on floor 120.

                        Description: If you place fences on any mine floor, and then blow them up, it'll spawn a ladder.

                        Source: Me, the internet, etc.

                        Why does this happen?

                        As a note, the exact cause is

                        Precise cause: that num3 > 1 is the cause of creating the ladder i.e. its the rand check that passes the if because Math.Max(1, this.stonesLeftOnThisLevel) == 1

                        Fix

                        Replace !o.Name.Contains("Lumber") with o.Name == "Stone"

                        Note: As a side note: this only works when there are no other stones. Also, would work with any other placeable craftable. (I did it with gates, which doesn't really count since it's another type of fence, but..)

                        Observable in Latest Beta: Yes.

                          @Katzeus can we get a list in the main post with all the issues reported the devs currently know about? This thread has gotten pretty huge by now, and it's getting increasingly hard to check for unreported bugs.

                            I've already read 2-3 posts about this bug and I just wanted to mention it again. Just in case..

                            The cabins can't have a cellar. I hope this isn't on purpose because one cellar in the main house is too small.

                            The farmhands can go to robin but the 3rd house upgrade isn't an option even if we have enough money.

                            I hope this will be fixed soon..

                              In multiplayer I can't upgrade my cabin past the 2nd upgrade (nursery upgrade) but the host can upgrade the main house to have a cellar. Upon changing the game file to increase the upgrade of my house it worked, but when I walk out it puts me in the host's house. Is this a bug for the cabin to not be able to have a cellar or intentional?

                                Me and my husband are having a few bugs. I am the host, he is the farm hand. The floors in the cabins change back to default, or I think its default, the blue and white tiles. My husband and I are also having bugs with furniture. The dark rug in my house can not rotate, his can, the dark couch in his house splits in half when rotated, mine does not. The coffee table in his house can no longer be picked up or have things set on top of it. Keep up the good work, this game is awesome!

                                  We have a couple of bugs

                                  1. Only the host is able to see the full list of community center bundles from their inventory, and farmhands are only able to see first page (crafting bundles), which doesn't update and simply shows them all empty

                                  2. We've had around half of our artifacts and minerals disappear from the library (and our running list of them in our inventories), and this has happened twice. Haven't managed to verify whether we're still getting rewards per number of donations as we should, but it looks like we haven't.

                                  3. We've had the same time desyncing/eternal loadings screens and crashing as others have reported.

                                  Not a bug, but in terms of balance - I think the items in the mine need to be one per player (the upgraded swords and shoes), and in addition the Stardrops should definitely be one per player. I think it should also be considered for cut scenes to pause time, as I've passed out a couple of times due to being caught up in an unintended cut scene!

                                    I don't know if this has been reported/discussed as I have no idea what keywords might find it, but I find it extraordinarily annoying that I need to be invited to the game each and every time by the host. Surely once you've joined a game, you should be able to just go back into it from the "Join" screen, as long as the host has it running???

                                          Well, the bug I experienced wasn't really about a wrong weather forecast. I didn't check every day, but when I did it was always correct. The issue was, that it almost didn't rain in fall and spring. I remember we had rain on day 4 of spring and then nothing until day 20something. Now, that I think of it, the long sunny phase was another session than the one with rain, so it probably was only a problem of this one session. We're also not yet able to craft the rain totem so that is no option and anyway, while it is a nice workaround, the game should be able to produce rain on its own. As I said: I am not sure if this was a bug, we just got suspicious, because we had hardly any rain in spring and fall, which is just not as I remember it from my singleplayer saves. It could still be by chance, though.
