Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta: Known Issues & Fixes

    Oh, thanks for clearing that up! It's been a while since I've built anything in singleplayer. :) I guess we're just kinda "suspicious" about everything since it's a beta, haha.

      My cursor changes to an incredibly slow speed every once in a while and after i'd sent a message with the chat function my cursor just froze in the middle of the screen. I'm playing the beta version but these bugs were in single player. I'm using dual monitors and the game is windowed borderless so that i can still use my other screen when it's running, I recon that might have something to do with it.

        I was playing stardew valley with my friend and he was also sharing his screen.
        It seemed that some part of the farm was not synced while we were playing (there were missing plants on his screen) and after he rejoined it was fixed.
        So there is a desync in farm layout

          Tried to upgrade player 2's cottage, using the 'separated' start. Nothing happened, but it did take the 10k gold and 450 wood. The next day, Robin acted as if that player did not purchase an upgrade.

          We had 3 players, with a 4th character not logged in. The cabin upgrade was bought on the last day of Fall, year 1. Presumably had something to do with the jellyfish festival?

          (Really sucks, 10k gold down the drain...)

            If anyone sees this maybe add to the bug list thing that to delete/move cabins you simply need to open the save in single player, do the destroy/move/build save and return.

              I want to take a stab at what I think is going on with the bug that causes the chests to disappear every 10 floors because there are things that I've noticed when the bug hit one of my farms.

              First of all, I think the cause of it is related to the speed with which one person sped ahead in the mines. Someone who was not the world host sped ahead and reached Floor 10 of the Mines before anyone else had even gone into the mines. As a result, the majority of players in the game did not have available to them the quest to reach Floor 5 before someone had reached Floor 10. I think that this is related to cause, as it seemed to completely despawn the chests onward.

              There is something else about this bug, too. When I reached Floor 30, which also had no treasure on it, I noticed for the first time that the trademark "ding" which indicates the elevator turning on for the first time was missing. Furthermore, the light which is supposed to turn on when this happens to indicate this is already lit. As such, I suspect that there's a flag improperly set telling the game that the party's already reached that floor when we haven't done so, and thus the treasure is missing.

              Hopefully this doesn't extend all the way to Floor 120 and the Skull Key, though. We don't know yet. Thanks for the beta and hope this gets sorted out soon!

                Found a bug where when riding a horse if you double tap two any two WASD keys to go a diagonal direction into a wall, you phase through the wall.

                  1) There seems to be bug with Robin's Seasonal Plant, Basic Log, and Log Section; if you buy one of them, and then just left click the other two (without putting the first one to your bag inventory), the other two would disappear from the selling list (and you don't get the other two items, nor you lose money). You can also only buy one of them before they disappear from the shopping window. But when talk with Robin again to open the shopping window, the three items I mention will reappear again.

                  I reckon Seasonal Plant, Basic Log, and Log Section should have worked like Marnie's ornamental hay on the shopping window

                  2) There is also issue where if you pick animal product from floor (like eggs or rabbit wools), the item sprite blinks as the pickup animation plays.

                  3) When you go the another area while riding horse, your horse disappears (as if you're not riding anything) as the background black fade out transition plays. However you still get to ride your horse on the next area

                      I can confirm this behavior. I have exactly the same problems. After each crash my startup_preferences file will be deleted and I have to reset every game option that I changed before.

                        Item multiplication glitch 2: I borrowed my friend's (host) axe because mine was getting upgraded at Clint's. Left her axe in my inventory by mistake and went to sleep. She got a new axe because her old one "had gone missing" even though it was still in my inventory. I did get my upgraded axe from Clint so now we have one extra.

                        Also, I accidentally tried giving her a fruit that I was going to eat while she had a chest open. I clicked out of the "gift this to your friend" window with No, then the game sort of froze me in place. I disappeared from my friend and could only open doors/walk out of the farm screen (no tools). I got some ingots from a furnace and that respawned me so that my friend could see me and I could use my tools again

                          Beta, singleplayer. Minor graphical glitch: When I go to jump on and off my horse I jump way higher than I should. By no means game-breaking. (Horse was wearing a fedora and later a straw hat.)

                            skull cavern: farm hand found holes to jump into, but they are ladders for the host, dont know if it works the other way round to.

                            crap pots that the host already emptied and refilled give me the error "inventory full" if i click them, also sometimes the bait is not shown in them

                              I found another tiny bug. The chat is in German, but I think you can understand the problem anyways.

                              I rearranged two items (ghost crystal, celestine) and donated another item (none of the ones you see in the chat) and got the notification that we donated 40 items to the museum.
                              After that, we got the same notification every time we donated something instead of being told who donated what, even though we are above 40 now.
                              It's not game breaking or anything, but you guys should know anyways.

                                Hello!

                                Me and my S.O is currently facing issues regarding not seeing the chests in every 10 Levels. We even went further to create another new farm, yet still doesn't function properly. We are currently at Level 30, and I am still using the rusty sword. :')

                                I also can't complete my "Initiation" quest as well,so I can't enter the Adventurer's Guild.

                                FYI, My S.O is the host player and he reached Level 10 first. So I'm not too sure why is the bug happening, since there are other players who are able to get the chest, just that only 1 of them are able to receive it.

                                I am also in full screen, playing the current version of the beta multiplayer of Stardew valley.

                                  Hello! I tried to search to see if anyone has posted this but couldn't tell. When I play multiplayer, if my husband passes out, despite if I went to bed or not, the screen goes black and the only way to get it to continue and save, is by force closing just his game. Once he disconnects, the game goes on. It occurs even if I pass out at the same time as he does. Thanks!

                                    If you went the animal profession route with your farming levels, and you have the profession for either coop or barn, and you pet an animal of the respective type who is at or near maximum mood, their mood will be set to nearly 0. (note, this is not friendship, this is mood)

                                    Additionaly, if you're awake past 6PM in any season other than winter, your animals above a mood of 150 will have their mood drained over time until it reaches 150 or lower. If it is winter and a heater exists in the area they're in (inside or outside, it does not matter), and it's after 6PM, your animals who have a mood above 150 will have their mood increase over time until it reaches maximum, which is 255.

                                    Edit: I've seen the decompiled code thanks to modder tools and I can point out the exact locations of the problems if you'd like, please just ask, I've been wanting these bugs fixed for a long time.

                                      I also want to share my experiences with the desync error:

                                      For us it occurs in a two player game, not three. Therefore if we go to bed early we can 'wait the desync out' and end the day. We are sleeping in the same room.

                                      Both players then start the new day at the same time again. If we stay in the house together and do things there (watching tv, cooking etc.) no desync occurs. The moment we go out and start to do things on the farm we get massive desyncs. I suppose that some actions slow down time slightly for one player. We can see that clearly when the player in the 'future' goes to bed and waits there for the other players clock to reach the time stamp he went into bed, therefore the 'me' in the partners game being in bed for as well for him. Only then the day can be ended by sleeping. If the other player waits in front of the bed time passes at a normal rate for her. If she goes into bed as well her clock runs much slower.

                                      For now my partner seems to be synchronised in my game, but from her perspective she sees me do things a few minutes in the past. We also had it the other way around though (same host).

                                      BTW. i am on windows and the other player on mac, can othe rpeople rule that out as an potential issue? Also we are doing voice or video chat in the background. We are testing if that changes the intensity of the desync.
