Today I wrote a blog post talking about my experience playing five virtual years (in about five real-life weeks) in the valley. I expanded a bit on the vegan/animal rights issues I talked about in my earlier thread on here. Includes some screenshots; I don't think there are any spoilers, aside from a description of part of one cutscene with Shane.
I find it kind of cute that Evelyn is a Vegetarian. She mentions a Vegetarian menu for the Stardew Valley Fair instead of the Survival Burger only, or the grilled haunch. I know there's slight differences in being Vegan and Vegetarian, but I thought that was cool he included that with one of his characters. I think there may be more. Still getting to know every one.
Wow, I don't remember seeing that dialogue. Is it during the fair itself? I tried to remember to talk with every villager at every festival the first couple of years, but after that it got repetitive...
Yes. Go north of the Medical Center and Pierre's and you'll see a few picnic tables and a grill. George and Evelyn are on the left. Talk to her and she'll mention it. Thought it was pretty cute considering her loved gifts on the game.
That's right, now I remember I didn't notice that area the first couple of times I went to the fair. I'll have to chat with her next time...
Follow-up: Did another run attempt with no combat, fishing, or animal farming. Just posted about it on reddit.
I'm about 90% vegan, 100% vegetarian for eight years. I'm eating vegan pizza right now, but some might find the pineapples objectionable. The game seems to contradict itself sometimes with food ingredients and dialogue, but I appreciate that it's as veg-friendly as it is--other than fishing. I didn't know that CA is vegetarian, OP! Very interesting, thanks for the post.
