hey @Genevra are you aware that the virus total link on the mod download page shows that the file contains a trojan virus?

 

You can study the code for yourself or analyze it however you wish. What it actually says is it drops files in line with how bundled python applications drop files. There is no virus.

 

I'm not trying to sound accusatory, believe me. but as someone who is playing this on a external hard drive on a computer that isn't my own

this is a little worrying. it could be a mistake which is what I am trying to clarify, why is it specifically labeled as a trojan virus?

 

For one, the singular antivirus that is labeling it as such is garbage.

For another, it clearly states it is a HackTool in the others. I wouldn't recommend any antivirus in that list that's falsely labeling it.

In the future, know that tools like this are often flagged incorrectly, especially because I'm not paying for a certificate to sign this program.

Check the file hashes listed on Github if you want to ensure you've downloaded a legit copy and only ever download from Starcheat.net.
