Starbound's steam database was just updated, with some seemingly important stuff

So as you can see the two packages (which I think means things you can buy/redeem) were just updated. The most recently updated one has references to pre-purchasing. The slightly older one just looks like a regular buying on steam thing. If anyone knows more about what this stuff means feel free to correct me, I'm just guessing.

Call me captain obvious but...
It appears they keep updating it over and over. Either they are sharing builds with each other like mad right now or the beta really is coming soon.

 

Let's all pray (even atheists) that the second option is the one that becomes truth

Pretty sure the announced over a year ago that beta was soon. that seems like a really really long notice to me!

 

While tonight would be nice, Steam doesn't release "new stuff" at night. Most new releases become available at 10AM Pacific Time.

I suspect that if a release is imminent it will be on Wednesday since it's rumored that the Autumn Sale will begin Wednesday 11/27 and run through 12/2. From a sales and marketing perspective you would want to have your new Early Access release as part of that. Since it's been stated elsewhere that the price will go up from the pre-purchase price once beta is released what I would do is raise the price to $24.99 and have a 10% or 15% discount during the sale.

 

Sometimes I wish they would just surprise us. Imagine the shock!
