I just tumbling around the nightlies yesterday and something hits me really hard.

The matter manipulator can be the most devastating weapon, and you are the lucky one who got a hand on one of these tools. What if we just aim the matter manipulator of someone and just decapitate them.

"But lichen! The matter manipulator can't be used against living creature."

Really, have you ever visited an alien planet made out of meat and eyeball, and that's enough to categorise most of the living biological tissue. Some tentacle can even be harvested heck, how about plants why can't we do the same on at least a floran. And talk about glitch and nova kids, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

"Well they are a moving you dummy, the matter manipulator can't do that to them."

Well then what if they're stationary or paralysed. have you seen a glitch or a nova kids, these things shouldn't have biological organs and that means they do not need constant heart beating and breathing. how about trees and water, these things constantly shaking or flowing, yet you Matter Manipulator does not have any problem with that.

"Maybe but lichen, you forgotten that these creature has to be blocky."

Belive me, cause i've been exploring all the time and i harvested many unevenly shaped objects.

    "But lichen"

Sush, I have the biggest proof why matter manipulator can kill creature. Have you ever looked at those vats at an apex lab, that thing has an either living/dead apex inside this is some advanced schrodinger paradox.

"Okay! you made you point, but what if our character refuses to kill like he might be teleporting his enemies when they got weakened."

Bitch please you are not batman, your enemy is actually disintegrated to death with some kind of energy weapon. and how about plasma weapon, they can basically turn you into a bloating biological slime. Or gauss, these thing is an accelerated ballistic weapon. And I can assure you that some of you playtrough involves murder, manslaughter, and even genocide.

I would like to see someone put up an argument, and that is only if you are up to the challenge.

Actually, it's real weaponized power is that it can be used to quickly make fortifications and fortresses which would take years to make otherwise.
Gameplay-wise, it can't directly harm mobs, which could be explained in-universe as it being just plain too slow for that, as it works on the nanometer level, apparently; so simply using a gun or a more conventional weapon would be faster and wouldn't involve keeping the target only partially within an area.

I've put Starbound on the same level as Star Wars - it's science fantasy, not science fiction. That means that there are some things not done simply because it looks/feels better. It's on the same level as "a bullet should kill you with a single shot to the head" or "backstabbing someone should instakill". It's something that has been not implemented for the sake of gameplay. Have a game too realistic and you'll get bored because you have to keep watching your eye humidity and oxygen level in your lungs.

I thought most of them were just joking and being sarcastic because of how silly the entire thing was.
