Sweet, many thanks for the info! That may explain the low amount of response my Thread got then, i'll start adding the .log File to each Screenie Submission as well for future Crashes. Sounds good. 0 it is. I like it. This would give Max Rent Planets of every Biome so that people could build on their fav Planet Type they wanted to & get Max Rent at the same time instead of being forced to choose between one of them. (Well, except for me cause no Lightning Planets & too late to add them now cause I gave up on them & Home Worlded a Volcanic Planet.)
this is caused by some idiot mod creator that completely replaced the player.config file instead of using the patch method, I had this problem too, so I made a fix. i'll upload it to steam in a sec. anyone that has the aforementioned bug can use this patch to fix it. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=761601930
Got another Crash with Error Screenie, but have now started providing .log File with it. For the Topic: Thus far, i'm liking the Starbound way of Fishing more then the Minecraft way. I have never yet fished in Terraria, so can't Comment on that.
Fishing in Terraria... 1). Find a pool of water (any pool of water, though what biome it is in affects catch). Hopefully it is 100+ tiles or you might fish up junk instead of a fish. 2). Throw your line in. 3). Wait for it to "bloop". 4). Click to reel it back in. 5). ??? 6). Profit! In Terraria, you just got Rod+Bait Power and that's it. There are also accessories that get rid of the 1-in-7 chance of line break, an accessory that lessens chance of losing bait, and an accessory that increases fishing power (and also a suit of armor that raises fishing power). But the fishing "minigame" itself is simply click once to cast, wait for the hit, click to instantly reel in. Rinse, repeat. However, you have lots of bait options, and your bait is consumable (Better Bait Power = The more casts you get out of it. Mid-range bait is 3-5 casts per bait). Catches range from fish to crates (which have a variety of items depending on crate type), the notable fish are those used in making potions and also the quest fishes.
I don't want to collect monsters as pets. I just want to collect the cute little harmless creatures. Why make some of those uncapturable?
There are a bunch of bugs I have noticed with this update, mostly having to do with the collections screen not updating. I captured one of the ghostly creatures in the abandoned Hylotl Mansion and I didn't get the update for it. Also please fix the infinite fuel bug and the crewman duplication bug! I think Rogue planets could be a nice addition. It wouldn't be a new star type, more like a ship upgrade (from Pete or Esther) that lets you track starless planets flinging around deep space. It would have to be a very dark biome, or one with bioluminescence everywhere. But it would add more content. Rogue planets could have the Tentacle biome in them if the Ruin got to them. I want that biome as a regular one so badly!
Moving creatures? does this support monsters? (Yes, finally Esther will be dead and I will be free! No Ruin, no fat oaf Avian, I will finally be able to do what I want!) My overall thoughts on this update... helpful, find fishing a bit too time consuming when I have a universe to explore, but I'll take it. Moving monsters and Novakid saloons seem appropriate... but Novakids are meant to be kinda wild. The sitting life just seems a bit out of place for them (or at least when they aren't in the Red Giant stage)
No it doesn't include monsters. did you not read the dev post? They can't replicate the duplication bug so instead of demanding fixes how about you post your log.txt to help them fix it.
Okay so I now have four sets of seven crew members ever since the update... Here is my starbound log- http://pastebin.com/3F1dC80i If I don't have any crew with me, my crew seems to have a high chance of duplicating when I teleport somewhere. I usually get a burst of lag after the teleport and then my entire crew appears. It can be anywhere. On my ship or on a planet when they suddenly teleport in. I have attempted to kill some of the duplicate crew and a few seem to be unable to be killed. >.< I also have the problem of not being able to hit a number again to sheath a weapon. :/
Could not find anything suspicious in there. Maybe try it again but use "-loglevel debug" as a launch option (rightclick on steam entry, set launch options) so you get a more extensive log. Because it got removed. Use the Z key. Anyone still having the crew npc multiplying bug, I've made a mod that allows you to sweep them up: http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/npc-killer.4147/
Okay, loaded up again and teleported up and down a few times and here's my log- http://pastebin.com/sPMy4aNy BTW... This is what my ship looks like now. It's officially Lag City. (I only actually have seven crewmembers)
Which dev post? The patch notes one makes no mention of the duplication bug. Also, there is an entire thread dedicated to that bug and a ton of people have already submitted their log files. You know, it occurs to me that a very easy way to at least treat the symptoms of the duplication bug would be to allow us to use the Relocator on the duplicated crew members. I could dump those guys into a magma planet without a second thought.
It was this post right here in this very thread http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/starbound-v1-1-changelog.123873/page-6#post-3017452
The fireworks killed me inside a rebel base I did not think it was a bug I just thought I should not do that again
hmmmmmm..... could I see that log file? also, you should try verifying the integrity of the game with steam.
I really hope the Fish that you collect are either: A. Edible. B. Serve a Useful Functional Purpose(or can be sold for money/resources), or C. Do not take up Inventory/Chest Space when Caught/Collected. If not then they are Garbage items that shouldn't have been implemented in the first place, as every item should have a gimmick, and not just for collection, but for a functional purpose as well. They should change my Title to "Poptop Slayer", not "Poptop Tamer", as I'm on a Quest to rid every planet of the menacing pests. Edit: Also, I'm one of the worst Pokemon Trainers/Digimon Tamers/Pet Owners/Summoner Class Players in All Existence of Gaming and the Known Universe. Rogues, Marksmen and Hitman Assassins are my Personal Specialties in Gaming. I also Play Pirates, Ninjas, and the Occasional Paladin, Warrior and Rarely Mage/Wizard.
Fish are edible, but some of them (rarer ones especially) drop loot on death, including pixels, tech cards, manipulator modules, and even cosmetic pieces. They don't take any chest space. Instead, you collect them with that replicator gun, and can keep them in an aquarium.
