Agreed. Simply extending the Relocator tool to also scoop up Crewmates would help immensely. The problem though needs to be solved. In my case, my entire crew is being duplicated -every time- I teleport to my ship. Removing three Crewmates at a time isn't enough to clear my ship. :/

Fixed. & to add to it, Rare Fish can also drop Fishing Rod Upgrades. IMHO it'd be wiser for the Devs to spend time fixing the Bug rather then waste time crafting a temporary band aid fix before spending the time to actually fix the bug. *shrug*
Except they can't fix it because they can't reproduce it. And I can see why that is, I got the bug twice and it happened completely unexpectedly. We don't know how to predict it or what causes it. In this situation a band-aid is the only thing that would work.
So I dunno, if this is a bug or intended but in 1.1 I don't seem to be able to capture critters as pets anymore. It makes the little circle of light when I hit them with the capture pods, but passes through them like they do a monster that has too much health. I hope this is just bug, cause I was having fun collecting them. They're generally more cute than the monsters.
I have posted TWO logs in this thread alone trying to help. One a normal log and the other one from using the debug startup command. Neither of them shows any output at the moment the duplication bug happens. I know because I run a server and watch the moment it happens. The only thing that is obvious when it happens is the momentary lag right before the duplicated crew appears. You no longer can capture critters in a capture pod. Instead you capture them with the relocator tool and place them where you want them. They now stay there.
Oh, that's terrible. =/ Now we can't have them follow us around. And they only have 1 HP so if they get bumped by anything they're instantly dead. And unlike a pet they're not coming back.
We either need a mod to return the critter capture pod functionality (since it's the only "safe" way to keep them) or someone needs to make a mod that brings the functionality back. Back on to the topic of crew duplication. Before the 1.1 update, I was unable to bring more than 3 crew with me, even if they were a duplicate. Now I can take any number of duplicates as long as there are only three "unique" crewmembers. This means I can get rid of duplicates faster, but may be a hint why the bug is happening more frequently for some people. The only thing that is consistent is that I can guarantee that my crew won't duplicate when I have at least one with me.
I thought you needed 2 daggers/shortswords in order to stunlock. And Leda Portia, the TRUE GRAND PROTECTOR, who didn't really die and had time to escape, will take her place! Do you still get the Tech Cards/Cosmetic Pieces for the Rare fish if you put them in an aquarium/just for fishing them, or do I actually have to sword/shoot them? Cosmetic Pieces FTW.
This. Doing this is like throwing a Capture Ball onto the Bug to be able to Post to the Devs before the Bug can scuttle away & re-hide. I've been wondering the same. Ok... that is scary... & by being able to Capture Ball them, it is then possible to give them an Oblivious Collar. One can't help but to wonder how a Fish is supposed to give loot without getting killed... & warning, using the Relocator on a Caught Fish forfeits their ability to drop Loot at all anymore.
