Starbound = Terraria + Borderlands + Pokémon?

And so i saw that there will be the possibility to have 3 pets that will help you in fights, and if they die you won't lose them but they can be revived just like in Pokémon...
Will there be any kind of easter eggs referring to that series? And if so, will there be real Pokèmons in Starbound like Lugia, Charizard or Lucario?

 

Where does borderlands come in all of this?

For me Starbound is just Starbound.

It goes get elements from many other games, but at the end it's kinda Unique.

 

No there will not be pokemons in starbound. There may be if someone makes a pokemon addon/mod.

Also the chance of them having actual licensed Pokemonz in their commercial product is exactly 0, with a standard deviation of 0.

With the exception of mods like that one guy said, but you'd be surprised how many user created mods of major franchises get cease and desisted even if they're free.

 

Well, starbound has a lot of elements from other games, and most game do, but contrary to what many think, this won't be Terraria in space. And where Pokemon come into this?

 

Well we CAN tame Mobs. So it's SORTA like Pokemon.


But no. Starbound isn't just Space-Terraria Borderlands. It's it's own game.

 

Starbound is Terraria in space, with a load of new features.

If you give anyone who has played Terraria that statement, they have an idea of what Starbound is. Saying things like "Terraria-Pokemon-Borderlands!" doesn't give anyone any clue what you're saying.

And for the record, neither does "Starbound is its own game that can't be compared objectively to anything."

Well, the game has very different mechanics, and the playstyle is also different. However, the games have a lot in common, and I must agree that if you were to explain it to someone in short terms, Terraria in space could work.

But maybe you could get a pet Creeper, since Tiy got a permission from Notch to use Creepers.

 

Terraria is like 2D Minecraft. Pokemon is like Tomagotchis. So really you're saying that Starbound is another FPS but with a 2D Minecraft-feel and Tomagotchis.

Except that's not anything like what you're trying to say. I just love messing with people.

 

So what? You can do that in WoW too, so Starbound isn't the first to approach Pokemon...

 

Rofl, I can totally imagine a pokemon mod where there will be a linear progression of planets that follow the story, gyms and what not.

 

Oh god and as a side mission we go on a quest to catch rare monsters from starbound! Ex: Poptop.

 

With all of these features being added, I'm afraid many people will just brush over them. But then again, you can more easily pick your favourites, making the game your own experience...

On topic, I want a Chocobo.

 

It's entirely possible there will be some kind of Pokemon Easter egg, though I highly doubt there will be any actual Pokemon in the game. An Easter egg (In my opinion) should neither be easy to find nor should it be obviously referencing something.
