Starbound Staff Surprised?

So Starbound Staff, are you surprised at the amount of money and backers you have gained for this in such little time? Did you expect getting around this much, and are you all jumping with joy? Does this get your blood pumping to work even harder and make it even more worth making this amazingly beautiful game?

I would hope so, because we all love what you're doing. We all love you, Starbound staff.

(I can't wait to get the Diamond pre-order. )

 

Why do you have a poll when the pre-order page has everything from everyone?

Me too I'm astonished at how much money they have from pre - order's so far lets hope they all spend the money wisely like shiny new pc's and hardware etc.. and i noticed something quite funny the little penguin was pacing from side to side then when it hit the $100,000 point the little penguin's animation changed to jumping up and down. wonder what would happen to that cute little penguin if they hit the $1 million mark probably it would implode or explode!

I might get impervium, myself, but that depends on how much copies I decide to do for giveaways. Once I get my new credit card to play nice with paypal, that is, and get some technical questions answered.

Now this is interesting. From the numbers on the pre-order page, it looks like the backers break down into the following percentages*:

Pixel: 80.8%　　　　(poll: 45.7%)​

Silver: 8.4%　　　　(poll: 19.2%)​

Gold: 6.7%　　　　 (poll: 25.5%)​

Diamond: 4.0%　　 (poll: 16.0%)​

The backer spends an average of $25.
The forum backer spends a (claimed) average of $61 ($92 if we include the guy who voted on everything).

 

much love to the staff my only regret is that i was only able to buy the silver tier for $20 i would have gladly paid $25 or $30 but unfortunately none were an option. as $45 was out of my badget to give.

Theres an option to "Pay more in donation" when your purchasing.

yes, it includes the 4-packs.

So removing that Crude Liar from the poll, and also the other Impervium voter (who does not have a badge to verify it), the adjusted forum backer average is $41.

I'm just glad the Devs are getting the money they need to stay off the streets and finish this awesome looking game!​

 

I expected maybe $100k over a month. Not $250k in less than a day. I am super surprised.

This poll is faulty, I can only click the 4-packs (or any of them for that matter) once. Haven't bought any yet, though I'll likely get at least 3x Pixel/Silver 4-packs to give away, and a Gold or Diamond for myself.
