Starbound Radio Station - Soundbound - Live and running - We need DJ's!

Well the problem is seemingly that his call for djs and moderators caught the attention of some people that actually are just that. Now if we're asked to invest our time and money (Yes, this is a quite expensive thing to do) the only thing we usually ask in return is a reliable team, that will back us up. You wouldn't believe how many bad experiences most of us have had in the past, especially with internet radio.

I love this game, and i really like to support it by doing my weekly work for it, the only way i can: By creating good mixes that will keep people interested and by delivering news.

 

What is the station number gonna be?

I think a good way to start off would be to make an YouTube account for some game-play commentary. Then as your fan-base grows, you can introduce the internet radio part to them. I think it would be really hard to just have listeners right from the start, and it would be easier for them to get to know you first (from the commentary) and then be redirected to the station.

Renworld says its better to just podcast. What I'm saying is that they should have a youtube channel to increase their popularity, THEN make a radiostation.

 

Another one ? I think it would be better to just work together with the existing ones. What about ockpii for example ... ?

It has been about 5weeks since he said it would be 2 weeks then this project would kick of. Then not a single word on here to let the public know how it is progressing. When someone random for the thread/topic comes and says "it is progressing smoothly" without any more info then that, most likely not much is happening at all this summer

Mistake here was to even start talking about this so far away from any sort of release of the game. Should have just waited until game was close to release of some sort and then start working and talking about it. Im still assuming the guy behind this project really isnt all into it with his heart, cause then it would not take as much time IMO. Now Im affraid he will do this anyway just to prove a point and it will end up failing.

PS: I know that his talk about making money of from the project has been edited out from the OP after we pointed out thats just not likely to happen. But for those who know TotalBiscuit, he started out with radio, and then entered web radio to later start doing video content, streaming and commentating and such. He is making a living out of his company that he got now. But he never ever made any money out of web radio and he was working with one of the biggest most successful gaming radio stations there have been. Here is a talk show where they go through his entire life and career, and in that he talks about the radio part and how they almost just broke even, could perhaps pay some tickets barely and some equipment:



really interesting stuff for those who know him, or just want to hear from someone who is making a living out of it.

I don't understand what any of this has to do with Starbound.

 

Hey OP, I sent you an email about being a music streamer or DJ (prefer being a streamer). Please take it seriously I am not one to waste others time.

Forgot to mention in the email. It would take me some time to get a proper set together. But all the songs would have the same general 8-bit/Chiptune theme.

 

Neither do I. Especially with the title "Starbound Radio Station". Either way I'm curious what sort of music will be played on this station.

 

I think we can declare this project as dead.

 

I think the original poster meant it'd be like Warez-BB's site radio, where it's just a little widget that DJs (users) get on and stream music for others and talk to the community a little bit.

At least that's the only type of "radio" I can think of seeing as how Starbound is nowhere near release and they haven't mentioned anything about "radio" stations in the game itself (+ that'd require professional or pre-recorded things to be constantly streaming to servers and such).
