Starbound Private Beta Going On Now, Let's Get Excited!

Well I don't know about you,
But I hope they find the ones that they can fix.
Also hope they miss one or two fun to screw around with ones.

 

One can't, which is where the problem comes.

 

Oh, I have learned this fact of life very well. Trying to "take breaks" never works. It's one of the reasons my grades were bad in high school, well my terrible work ethic probably had something to do with it as well.

Well, darn! Sal'rith is very very excited to hear this. Well, Sal'rith cannot deny he would love to be in it, because - hey, who doesn't like to feel privileged AND helpful at the same time? - but it's still remarkably exciting to hear this!
Wait.. Already said that.

It might be a milestone that heralds we're near release -- but even if not, it's still a great milestone to reach. While there will probably be an NDA (either implicit or actually drawn up) between testers and Chucklefish, so we probably won't hear anything, just knowing it's going on is pretty awesome.

back on topic, i dont really care for the beta, its closed and there wont be any footage shown or info put out. so basically nothing happened

Hopefully most of them. I'm fairly certain that they'll find a good deal of them.

I beg to differ, loading screens give plenty of time.

Aside from the fact that it's builds excitement for the game, and let's everyone know that it's to the point where they're working out bugs. It's basically Tiy's way of letting us all know that he's making progress towards a release. Besides, who's to say that there won't be footage or info put out? They've been putting out good amounts of footage and info fairly frequently as of late.

 

at the moment i think it looks more like a random generation version of terraria with different water effects, i hope they will make it more starbound-ish.

-mostly just to improve the combat system and the storyline which is a bit far away-

 

Well to start, Starbound looks so much better than Terraria, literally.
They have shown us many robotic features, and teleporting. The enemies look much more diverse from Terraria's, we have cats in mechs after all.
Plus, there are many distinct building styles and races; Avian temples, Apex laboratories, Floran treehouses, etc.
I think that it's safe to say that starbound is going to be much more than a "random generation version of terraria with different water effects". I heard someone say that the water effects are temporary by the way.

 

Well, time to get active.

just because they have started a private beta does not mean that its close to release.

They have had a group of people privately testing the game for awhile you know. That is what we like to call betaing.

it is indeed different, but the livestream vid just gave me the exact idea of terraria, but more beautifull.
also, if the water effects are temporary, we won't get water-pressure bombs? i wanted to blow up a pet slime up with one..
