I maintain that a more measured approach would have yielded better long-term results. I'll bet you TEN TRILLION INTERWEB DOLLARS that my completely untestable thesis is borne out! Hmmm... once again, to play devil's advocate (I owe 'im one), I'd argue that wanting more videos from Leth does not equate to wanting 75 videos from random YouTube tools. I love watching Jason and Leth stream together (gig..gity?) because their playstyles complement each other perfectly - Leth wants to screw around, and Jason wants to play. But Jason's actual playing gives Leth better tools/materials with which to screw around, and that drives more exploration from Jason, and it becomes a delicious cycle, like buying con queso and Tostitos. They both play like me, at different levels of tiredness.
Being that guy, I didn't really like Leth and his co-commentator's style at all. I think having so many different styles hitting the game at the same time could help them to approach a wider audience perhaps. Since I did enjoy some of the presentations but not all of them. A majority of them appealed to my sensibilities and some just made me cringe (only having watched about six). There are people that FOLLOW that sort of playstyle and not only enjoy it expect it from their content creator. Edit: Lobo makes a good point about different fan bases wanting more content from their 'streamer' thus creating more of an appeal for the game/content. Probably what I was trying to hit at.
But imagine having a bunch of fans form each of these streamers wanting more videos from them... I know about Leth and Bart because i've been in their streams and i saw the madness there I understand that some people may feel like giving the game to these youtubers/streamers was a bad move, but there's also people who think NOT giving them early access would be a bad move either... It feel to me that, no matter what the devs did, it'd be a bad move from a perspective (but, ofc, every move would be also a good move if you look with other eyes...) He's so Lethargic, right? (lolol)
My usually-unstoppable curiosity has been reigned in by two factors: one, I've SEEN pretty much all of Tier One gameplay now, and all my questions have been answered (often with "not decided yet" but that's fine); and two, I'm taking a BOLD STAND against the TYRANNY of this LPOCALYPSE! Or something. Yeah, just not that interested in 'em. I chuckle with foul glee when you describe some of them as sucking, though; but that's because I am a malevolent, twisted soul.
It happens. I think that's the high note of what Chucklefish (as a company having made the decision to release early copies) was trying to hit, or so I hope. I could just be talking out of my ass though.

Just clambered out of TBs Let's Play and gotta say, Man that Jesse guy can act like an ass. Reminded me right off the bat of the yogscasts at i49 where they just screwed around while Duncan was trying his hardest to explain how it worked. In TBs instance, TB = Duncan.. Really why do people go for this good guy/Stupid moron approach in Let's Plays. -.- One vital stat came up on that Let's Play too. Jesse thought the game was hard? TB also mentioned that it was hard starting out. Is this not a GOOD thing? Its common knowledge games hold your hand alittle too much today, Especially from the AAA titles, I hate it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to do so either. Apparently you cannot win with anyone today, I would have thought better from my personal favorite LPer. Because hes always commenting when games hold your hand too much, Now he has one that doesn't and its the same whiney crap. Im depressed now. I wish I never watched.
Sorry, not going to watch those video's. I rather wait a day and get my own funky fresh smell of this baby. Oh Yeah. It's a good thing I took a bit more days off, before going on vacation.
