Cannot even wait for a day! really trying hard to hold off on watching vids i want to play for myself! can anyone tell me what time the game will come out for AU UTC? would be appreciated thanks!
I'm surprised you didn't list Paperbatvg as a streamer for starbound, seeing as he'll be doing it at midnight EST.
Well - http://community.playstarbound.com/...g-livestream-midnight-12pm-est-dec-2nd.33827/ I think most people that 'want' to know, already do, and those that don't have already stated their opinions. Not to mention the incredibly inconvenient time. Midnight stateside and 5AM in EU, okay. In what way?
Guys i need help!! , i pre ordered it and i put in the wrong EMAIL so i went back and tried to change it , but it didnt send me an email DDDDDDDD;;;; !!!!!
Hey man try shooting an email to support@chucklefish.org You can always post a Thread about it here: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?forums/support/ - pull some focus to your issue.
I have been waiting for this day to come for so long and have watched it grow into way more than I originally even hoped for. Mind Blown! Hopefully Starbound doesn't become illegal because of its highly addicting properties.
I would assume that releasing the game would be them sending the key, so the game is basically "out" when we get the Email.
I'm so jelly of the people who got the game early to play. Although I'm happy that some how the beta is going to come out on the third for me here in VT, I mean because this post was on the third for where ever Chucklefish is located and I saw it early in the morning so logically I'll get my copy on the third for me... FUFUFU MY MASTER PLAN!
See, I totally disagree. I think a set of genuine community videos as opposed to these staged substitutes would have been overall more effective. The fact is, there is now no reason for an actual Starbound player to post their own LP - there are already thirty of them up, today. Nothing from anyone with fewer followers will ever appear in the first 10 pages when Starbound is searched on Youtube. So your actual community won't bother to share their actual enthusiasm for the game, because why bother? The audience is already completely saturated - and if they do produce content, no-one will see it, because the big channels will monopolize any search results. Instead, you'll have these "YouTube personalities" sharing the game with their viewers - who watch these people play ten games a month, and don't pay much attention beyond "Oooh, this one's in space!" - because they're watching for the "personality", not the games they're playing. So instead of allowing the people who love your game to tell people about it, you've drowned out their voices completely with a homogeneous yelling - at people who mostly aren't interested. I think it was exactly the opposite of a smart move. I think they traded a huge chunk of future long-term community investment (not to mention a fair chunk of their already strained community goodwill) for the opportunity to put their game in the hands of people who do LPs of a new game every month, and who will have forgotten Starbound only days after their viewers have. It's exposure, and I'm sure some of those viewers will buy the game. But it comes at the price of your community's interest in producing (and ability to project) content that reflects a genuine enthusiasm. Whereas delaying the release to make a better game is something that annoys people but is forgiven once the game releases, this will permanently relegate any community-made Starbound videos to near-total obscurity, and that's going to have a lasting negative impact on the game's following, popularity, and sales. One or two notable LPs? Wouldn't have been a big deal. But they tracked down every A-list, B-list, and C-list YouTube channel and dug a nice deep hole in which to toss every LP made by people who actually care about the game. I'm not "jealous" or any of that nonsense - I'm vexed, because I think this was a really shortsighted choice that will negatively impact the future of the game.
