Not really happy that they gave those guys earlier access than the rest of us. Makes it impossible for any new guy trying to crack into LP able to compete with big names who have a couple days head start.
DOES THIS MEAN I GET TO PLAY STARBOUND TOMORROW? Dat time difference. What time zone do the developers live in?
My heart is pounding, my hands are jittering, and I can't sleep. Can't wait for the beta, and even further the release. If you keep me waiting, I'll probably start to weep. This is Starbound we're talking about. Kill enemies, defeat bosses, and try not to pout. Cause in the end we'll just shout!
Nope! Not watching anything starbound, must purify myself to receive Starbound. I have yet to get a good handle on what is craftable and what is not, so I will be looking forward to that, hopefully there is some incentive to build a home.. Terraria NPC driven buildiing was neat but I don't see that happening here.. looking forward regardless!
I agree. Though, I usually look for the little guys on youtube. I can't stand a lot of popular youtubers, such as Pewdiepie. I find a lot of them to be not as funny as people claim and they tend to have horrible fan bases. Not sure how popular Cr1tikal is, but he's one of my favorite youtubers even though he doesn't do full LPs. Mostly because he refuses to use YT money for himself, he donates all of it to charity.
While I understand the sentiment I don't begrudge Chucklefish for doing this since it is a very smart business decision. After all, Chucklefish is a business and the more exposure and publicity they can get the better. Building up demand before the 4th by getting all this FREE publicity is a very good thing since it will feed sales on Steam, pushing the game to the front page, which then generates additional sales. Following right after a Steam sale probably makes it harder under normal circumstances to generate any significant sales volume. While those of us here know all about this game, there are many who do not (I know, hard to believe). And indie publishers need to do all they can to promote their wares and free publicity like this is a very smart use of their often very small marketing budget. Another thing, it is in OUR best interest for Chucklefish to not just survive but thrive by becoming very profitable. With profit they can continue to pay the talent, complete Starbound, and support Starbound into the future. And with profit they can attract new talent to make even more awesome games in the future.
Im so sad about all the videos, because i've been trying to stay away from the wikis, and youtube videos, to keep most of the content a surprise. AHHHH WHY DO YOU TORTURE MEEE!?!?!?!?!! lol im sooo excited though xD and why must this be released the week before finals!?!?!? agg lol
Did someone say......Insanity? Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is refreshing the front page each day looking for new content...lol
Why does the character creation screen call the Glitch 'Robots' (not to mention, neither that nor Hylotls should be plural, unless you were purposely calling each race by plural, which you don't seem to be doing.)? It really, really irks me.
Are they any videos that are more than the first 30 minutes of gameplay yet? Surely some uploader out there has his first.. say... 3 hours of footage already? Or perhaps someone streaming live? I watched a couple of these videos, but some of them made me cringe, and they all stop at roughly the same point. There was a point in one of the videos where the guy spent over 5 minutes trying to figure out where his sword went and how to access his inventory (any person with any knowledge of any game with an inventory system would press "I" immediately). The Zisteau one was the best so far I think, he explained some of the mechanics and stuff.
