Any chance there'll be documentation on the updated API somewhere? I'd love to get into modding but not having one central location for information is a pain in the butt :c
What I was more asking, is... when you update, do you have to re-upload the entire mod, or just click a button and the app will automatically detect what was changed, and change only THAT part of the mod? Let's say I had a mod that was 50MB and had 8,000 files. I changed 50kb worth in, say, 20 files... can I have it upload ONLY that 50kb or do I have to re-upload the entire 50MB? That's why people love GitHub, lol. Or at least one of the many reasons why.
You have to reupload the entire thing. That is just how steam works. Github mainly deals with text- which is why it works easily for Github.
*nods* That is probably why large mods will probably not use the workshop as often, maybe after every several smaller updates.
Considering my largest is about 1MB rounded up when zipped up, that does fit nicely in the "large" category.
It's more the filesize than anything. Many ISPs offer really crappy upload speeds in exchange for good download speeds. I get 3Mbit and that's bad, but my upload? 0.75Mbit. Yeah, not even a single Mbit. 50MB would take for-freaking-ever to upload, lol.
Will be great to see some of those old mods return, I haven't used much of my favorite mods in a long time now.
wooo! so excited for 1.0! even though i wont be able to play it thanks to it using opengl 2.0........
Depends on the time zone. It's nearly 1PM where I am, but I think we're a day ahead of where Chucklefish is.
Steam Storefront updates always happen at 10am PST worldwide. This is needed to reflect that the game left Early Access. On top of the addition of Workshop support from the Community Hub side.
