    So, this happened:

What do you guys think? I own a PS3 at the moment, and the PS4's on preorder. Don't own a PSVita, but this will definitely give it a boost in sales for some. Would you guys bother owning more than one copy of the same game for the sake of it being on a console or a handheld? Do you think the controls would even work out properly? I remember some folk complaining about PS3's Terraria because it really isn't meant for it, but it could work on the PSVita for sure.

I'd rather have the mouse/keyboard configuration for control. games like this, terraria, and minecraft just feel akward when put into a gaming controller (personally) and I have a decent enough computer where I'm fine

If they made a deal, like how portal 2 did, it would be awesome

If they did a cross buy that'd be pretty cool. That way we'd have it on both. Granted it'd be cool on the Vita, the PS3/PS4 would be another option.

Though porting to the PSN is very nice for indies (you can self publish to all three systems at once, supposedly), I would hope the other consoles won't be left out. I wouldn't be able to buy Starbound again on a Sony console, mostly because my PS3 is broken and unfixable, but I would be more and happy to buy Starbound again on the WiiU or 3DS. Especially so if the console/handheld version could play with the PC version.

hopefully it wont be a terraria thing were "consoles get the pc content and there own content and they get patches" that was no fun at all

The more platforms a game is available on, the better it will do overall. All for the best I say.

Vita and PS4 would be great. Mainly because both platforms will have touch pad support and could come in handy for some extra control.

I'd love to have it on Vita personally. PS4 would be redundant for me. At that point I rather just play the PC version. I don't currently own a Vita, but Starbound would probably push me over the edge on getting one. Especially if it had cross-platform server support.

I have terraria on xbox and honestly, the controls are pretty amazing.
I think it would work well for consoles (if done right)

  11. Considering the last Sony console I ever owned was the PS1, I don't think I'll getting myself a console/handheld copy of Starbound. I'm open to the idea of them expanding their range to consoles, but I'm sticking with PC Starbound myself.

Push it out to Vita and I'll probably pick it up there, too. But you've gotta figure out a way for it to still be mod-able and play with my PC friends.

I would not get Starbound for PS4 even if I owned one, but really, I see no reasons why they should not expend their horison to it. Unless of course they do not retain the control over what happen with the console version and both PC and console version start straying from each others.

  15. PS3/PS4 is fine, but I would like for the game to be on the Vita the most.
I just hope that there won't be any content pulled like with Terraria.

As long as features of the PC version don't have to be 'dumbed down' to play on a console, I wouldn't mind it. I won't play it on PS3 (PC Master Race) but it certainly wouldn't bother me.

If it were being developed for consoles in-tandem (Ouya?) and features were being left out of the PC release in order to make it work cross-platform... that I would not be happy about.

EDIT: For instance, that's what really bothers me about cross-platform MMOs. I'm still excited about FFXIV but I feel like time spent making it work on a PS3 is time that could be better spent making the PC version better. Dumbing down a game for consoles makes the PC version feel less complete.

I'm not really planning on using other than the PC version, but post-release console versions are OK. But like I said on another thread, hopefully both versions have the same content (ie. no console or PC exclusive content).

Yeah, I'd like for it to be on other systems too, but obviously said system being portable will count both as "being on another system" and adding something more to that, maybe it's going to become an option even for those like me who are just going to play that on PC. It also seems to be the audience favorite option for now.

Sucks to be me though, since I'm picking the 3DS over the Vita, but oh well.

Well, i am PC boy and use only PC so not that much for me. If this won't affect my platform and there will be no exclusive content then i am okay with that. It would be nice to see cross-platform feature in starbound at some point. The more players we have - the more fun this game will be. ... And more kids to troll.

[IMG] Well, if it will happen - Let's hope that it won't affect PC version
