Closed Starbound not starting at all

My game stops responding when I choose a character. Also it doesnt work when I connect to any servers.

 

Was working fine for me til today, now it won't get past 'loading'.

 

Yea sometimes mine does that but mostly stops when I choose character, and mine was working before aswell.

 

Why do I always find these things out last second?

And what do you mean by "thats only for beta *question mark*?" as in I may be waiting for nothing?
Sorry if this sounds like a rage comment, but patience is not my strongest virtue.
And wait how long? Another month? I just wanted to play starbound as a beta

 

Hey, I've recently updated to the new update (Frustrated Koala), and Starbound closes immediately after launchin.
I'm currently using a MacBook Pro 2012.

Offended Koala 15/12/2013 ,after this update game launching only in opengl,but it's freezing hardly.can you help me to launch game in usual mode.(the screen is black and nothing is happening)

 

MAC USERS,I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR US!!!! There are to things ,I think,that solved our problem. First it was the update to Mavericks (OS X 10.9). I did this update and then,my Starbound started to work ,but before I started playing,I had to make an update in Starbound itself (it was just 200 mb),that was the second thing. Now I don't now if it was the Mavericks (I really think that it was this) or the update on Starbound. Do both of then ,especially the first. I hope that I have helped and sorry for any wrong word or phrase,I'm brazilian and I didn't use the Google Tradutor. Bye,have a nice day.

 

I am trying to play on a Mac, I click on play, my avatar goes green for about 5 seconds then it goes blue.
The game doesn't load, I don't get an error message, I just end up back at my game library.
I am on the latest OSX, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and restarting steam, I have tried verifying the cache, nothing has helped.

Anyone else encountered this/found a fix.

 

Same as Anfraxx here. I just tried reinstalling and verifying, and it still is not working. Very frustrating.

 

I have found a fix and got it working now.
It is posted somewhere else but I'll re-type it here.
Go to the Starbound folder:
Right click Starbound in your library > properties > Local files > browse local files > move the "player folder" to the desktop (cut it, not copy) > launch Starbound > game will now run or should anyway > exit game > go in the old player folder on the desktop and copy all the files in there > paste them in the newly generated player folder in the Starbound folder if you don't want to lose your characters.

 

My starbound got stuck on the "Loading Screen" and I reinstalled the game several times without success.

I finally deleted the starbound folder manually and reinstalled it.
Now it is working again.

- Remember to backup your player folder!

[EDIT] - I forgot to mention I use Steam to install the game, using Windows 7 x64

Steam won't even install mine. I hit 'install' in my steam library, and it just sits there indefinitely.

 

Starbound doesnt even play. I dont get to the launcher. It says it opens then immediately closes and gives be the error below. I am on a MacBook Pro and i have tried everything but it doesnt work. I have tried updating my software but it has no new software to update. im on OS X Lion 10.7.5 with a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB memory.

I think ive got it. Go to the App store and search for Mavericks. OS X Mavericks should be first. Its free and it is a update for the software. Reply if it helps you.

 

I have this exact same problem, I'm on windows 8.1 and my system is powerful enough to handle this game.
I think Chucklefish should add a patch that fixes the problems. I know its not that easy but I believe they are currently working on this.
I hope so soon because I just bought the game and I rather would play it than just waste money
