Starbound monsters, over the top?

Has a horn -> drops ivory for crafting (---not to promote elephant poaching)

 

Is a seal -> Has a club... THEY ARE COMING FOR REVENGE!

 

At the end of the day... we have seen what 30-40 types of monsters in a randomly generated way. Who says they don't have big beastly things that will smash you to pieces in high tier areas? Also when you watch the streams they give themselves the most OP weapons that just one shot all the creatures so we really don't know how strong those monsters can be. I've seen some of them have pretty interesting projectiles also so I think this thread has a lot of people judging to quickly. Wait til you play to really say the creatures are crap which I highly doubt they will be.

 

I am a big fan of that series, so seeing a Ramiel or a Leliel would be a treat.

Evolution doesn't have sense in mind. It doesn't even think.

Edit: Also, I'm pretty confident vanilla starbound will be much better than "let's mod it to only make pregen monsters!" because that's taking a step backwards in innovation. That's just my opinion though, people play what's fun for them. I'm amazed to see the support they will have for modders to make the game exactly the way that they want it.

 

Can't agree with this. Well yes, evolution doesn't think, but it still has sense. And the sense is the adaptation to the environment(which itself adopts to ever adopting itself...I hope you get the point)

For all them haters, google out what creatures were found after the Japanese tsunami. You will be pretty much disgusted by them. And they don't resemble an average fish, that we habit to.
Also, please take a look at cats. This is one species with thousands of STARS sub-species. And it's just Earth, where we didn't started(at least, on open) making mind-chilling gene experiments with animals.

 

Playing a game for it's graphics is like watching porn for the story. And complaining about them is like the ending of Assassin's Creed 3. Horrible.

Yes, they might look out of place, but they'll change it, remember, this isn't finished.

You're correct about adaptation, but evolution doesn't have sense. Adaptation is a part for succeeding at survival. Evolution has random mutations, random has no sense. You may come across something that looks strange and it may fail at living long in its environment, but you're seeing it because it hasn't gone extinct yet. Your argument is based off of the survival aspect of things living on to pass their successful genes in evolution, not the part where evolution has no sense.
