Reading that your mom is feeling better. I think of it that way. She sees you feeling better and thats what makes HER feel better. It actually goes both ways. Also, listening to the soundtrack (Altair) and reading this. oh boy . I'm glad you're feeling better my friend !:coffee:

This is so touching. I, myself, am also going through violent bits of depression. I feel for you, and I am so glad to have read such a beautiful story.
    Good luck!

Usually I avoid these types of threads because I don't like "feeling my fleels.", But I decided to give yours a read.

I have learnt to take everything I read on the internet with a pinch of salt, but if your story is true then I really hope the best for you.

I have been lucky enough not to feel depression on anywhere near the level that you must have been feeling it, but whenever I am worried or sad about something my mind seems to "latch on" and almost obsess over something else (recently its been; YouTube, programming, games etc.) that way I don't have to think about the thing I am worried/sad about as much. Might not be the best way to deal with things but its the only way I know. Perhaps this is similar to what you have done with Starbound.

I am glad that your family has taken a turn for the better, and I hope you continue to climb.

Keep your 'head up broseph! :)

I don't know if your gonna read this at this point but I'm glad your life turned around. Computer games as the same effect on me as I need to let go of life and get into another life sometimes. I feels good to switch lives (I feel way better when I kill someone in a game lmao).

You could give a try for other games like FTL which I'm sure you will absolutely love and minecraft. Theres loads of others but those 2 got awesome replay value.

What have Starbound, Star Trek and Doctor Who in common?
They make you look less at the past and more at the future.

All the good stuff happens there.

I read every comment on here because they all bring me a LOT of joy in my heart to read them.
And yeah, I kind of do that too. My game identity is more fascinating that the real life one aswell :)

And as FluffyDestroyer said try FTL. Also you can give a try to Galactic Civilizations 2 (best if Ultimate Edition) or Endless Space :proper:

Bro, Don't let anyone get to you...Follow your Dreams and enjoy life for what it is.

Just remember this...Everything happens for a reason. And i totally get why a game would turn your life around, Some games have a connection in different ways with people.

    My connection was Wanderlust.

This was a very touching story and I'm glad the game was able to affect you in such a way.

I'm going to lock the thread now, though. Don't take it as if you were in the wrong. You weren't. I'm locking it before the trolls and insulting people come around. Nobody needs to hear that stuff.

Besides, the like button speaks for itself. c=
