Reading your story at work, on lunch break. I'm sorry that it took me a while to see this, but I'm grateful that I did. Your story should be made into a book or a film. My most sincere condolences for what you have been through, but my utmost gratitude for getting through it to share your experience with all of us. I think that games, especially ones like Starbound, have the power to change lives. You are the purest example of that. Peace. Love. Understanding.

You should do the $2000 donation so they can make a statue of you! Maybe even the $1000 donation and you can create a gun?

Sorry for going off-topic, I just thought Tiy deserves one or the two.

Hey, good job getting things straightened out and life on track again. I just wanted to wish you well in the future, and offer a little advice.

Starbound will be amazing. I can tell. The developers are great, the game concept is innovative, and the community rocks socks. However, be ready for the time when Starbound, in all its infinite glory, becomes boring. It happened to me with Minecraft and Terraria, despite the huge amount of content. I think it's human nature, really. Instead of bumming out and letting your life wind down at that point, use your enthusiasm as a springboard! Get excited about other things! Astronomy is really interesting, and so are a lot of other things. Go ahead, show the world that Starbound isn't just a game; it's inspiration itself.

This was a really touching story, and I am glad that you have found some happiness in starbound.

I find that whenever I ever felt down I listened to this, there's just something about it i really like :)

This really just goes to show how the universe that engulfs you when you immerse yourself into a game and its community is truly breathtaking, and it is worth taking the plunge when you surface a happier person :p

Glad to see my life isn't the only one that has hit rough patches. I'm still >18 (to quote a wise man with boxing-gloves for hands: my age is a closely guarded secret, protected by a sect of closely guarded monks high atop the Coches Mountains. They would no sooner dance with a goat than divulge my age.) but my mother has had cancer since I was 3 years old. Thank god it's over, but everyday for almost my whole life, I have escaped into the computer, but I know what it is like to have a sick family member. I can't say I have had any monumentally life changing things, life slowly got to the better position it is in today, but in all, the internet, and the computer have been my safe-haven. Thank you for being so kind as to listen to me.

I'm still confused as to how I ended up with the third copy of starbound, but I shall not look a gift (sea)horse in the mouth
(its totally because he likes seahorses :D)

I guess I'll have to go make someone smile now so the circle of love or something...

I'm so glad that I click this thread and read it all. Sorry for the lose of your father; I couldn't even imagine losing mine. I hope that man that was drunk driving got time in prison with a whole life of regret. Taking a human life because of his stupidity of drinking and driving, deserves him to feel guilty for his whole life. Thanks again for the wonderful post, and I hope you have a good day.
