I really don't like arguing moot points in threads about things not related to the topic but here I go anyway.
I have read all the comments up to yours, and I have seen minimal comments of the nature to which you referred. I have seen plenty of people being helpful, and plenty of people arguing among each other frivolously. This game has had quite a bit of hype, and as such there has been an influx of people coming to the community. Although I have not seen what you are referring to in this thread specifically, I believe you should know that if this games keeps getting more and more popular it will most definitely have a lot of negativity and pointlessness in the forums. That is what comes with it. Get enough people and you will see all the types, the good and the bad. The bad tends to stick out a bit more.

I'd rather shelf the game until a later date. :<

Than build a block? Yeah, tough. Maybe this isn't your kind of game? :O

Because I don't want to exploit stuff? Yes I would rather wait until the game is in a playable, not as broken state.

You should probably keep that line of thinking to yourself, its embarassing.

Building blocks in a game that literally gives you a device that lets you build the blocks in a single click is exploiting?
I'm not sure you understand this is a "openworldcraftingsci-fisandbox".
Building is part of the game. You aren't exploiting, you're using the environment to your advantage.
So, again, are you sure this isn't the wrong game for you?

Some people have funny ways of looking at things. I don't even find the birds to be much harder than they were, just way more aggressive.

    Agree with OP

Some people enjoy being tortured. Most of us normal gamers like to feel at least up to the challenge let alone a little strong. Here, we have to take things literally one step at a time hoping the three hundred badges we had was enough.

Attacking everything through a tiny hole in a dirt tomb is kind of an exploit, yes. But hey, whatever works for you, I'd rather see the game actually function in a logical and intended manner than walk around with a case of rocks around my character forever.

  12. Scynix

    Scynix Big Damn Hero

So building in a game designed for building is illogical and unintended to you?

.. and again, are you sure you aren't playing the wrong kind of game?

Seriously you're embarassing yourself right now.

I don't think that word means what you think it means. Given your severe confusion over what kind of game Starbound is, that's kind of understandable though.

so uh... when did I say wall with a hole in it? I sad a 2x2 block, you can duck [using "s" as default] behind a 2x2 block, and when your ready to fire your bow, let go of S to stop ducking... you know... using cover... in a logical way... the way it was intended... seams to me the only embarrased one around here should be you IMO :p

When you logged into a sandbox construction game and wondered why people were building structures, I would imagine. It's almost as if the game was designed for it.

I sympathize though, every time I start Minecraft I stop and ask myself, "What the hecks with all this mining and crafting?"

  18. ChiggityChek

    ChiggityChek Subatomic Cosmonaut

Its cool, you can keep on pretending like we're talking about building structures and not tiny bullet shields instead of acknowledging that something might actually be broken.

Guys, a lot of stuff is broken, it will be a long time before it is fixed. Please offer more constructive criticism instead of trying to make the most clever comment about why you don't like it.

  20. Scynix

    Scynix Big Damn Hero

Considering the intention behind the UFO Penguin is to be able to destroy blocks, a function which implicates that there are blocks to destroy, I find it more fun to poke at your very specific idea of what "broken" is.
Games like this are very nearly always balanced around the player being able to build anything. Terraria bosses are designed with that in mind. You use your construction capabilities to improve your odds of winning the fight.
But it sounds like you have a very specific idea of what you expect a boss battle to be like, which means you will *never* be happy with the way a sandbox game handles it.

So we're back to what I said originally: you're playing the wrong kind of game.
