Meh, that's why people can't do simple math on their own these days. *grins, jokingly.... well half-jokingly* I don't know why they don't teach 24h clocks in schools anymore. I knew that stuff in gradeschool and I loved confusing my classmates with it, lol. Time conversions and such are SO much easier on a 24h clock without that AM/PM crap messing you up. I always said "A day has 24 hours in it, why are we counting by 12s?" other than the fact older mechanical clocks were made to only have 60 "ticks" on the face of the clock which does not divide by 24 evenly. But still. Who uses a mechanical clock nowadays!?
QWERTY is still a good system, and you're talking about muscle memory. I know everybody sings praises about DVORAK but to be honest, I looked at it and I don't really see where it is much of an improvement. They claim once someone learns it, it's "better", but to be honest... anybody who's been typing for any amount of time who has learned QWERTY can do just fine, unless they are like a secretary where 80+ WPM is mandatory. I can do 60 myself rather easily on a QWERTY when my hands aren't sore from fluid retention (they've been rather bad the past few weeks, ugh). As far as clocks go... Learning the 24h clock is really simple and easy, in fact there'd be nothing to it if everybody else would jump on the wagon too. The only "problem" is people trying to convert 12 to 24h and that's as simple as adding or subtracting 12. I know, hard work, right? Adding/Subtracting 12 and working with numbers no larger than 24. Such hard math. But then I know some ADULTS who have to count on their fingers who can't do single-digit addition/subtraction, so......
Hey, don't underestimate human abilities to think without a brain. I know some people who were born with vacuum in their head.
when will I be able to play the 1.0 update? will it become available at 12:00 AM or is it being released later.
I went to start a new playthrough, but checked the news on Steam first. Just learned about this. Maybe I'll wait a few hours......
About what time (I can convert timezone if I have to), will it be released? --- Post updated --- before you say this to me, where in the blog post?
I GOT THIS ONE. game will release 10AM, PST (or 6PM GMT if I'm not mistaken). I'm in the central timezone, state-side, and it *should* be available at noon.
Right in the top. Go to the dev blog section here in the forums (where this thread is located) and you should see it right under or above this one.
you guys are making it hard to like every post but it'll be harder once it comes out I guess (I BETTER GET AN AWARD FOR THIS)
Modern-day mechanical clocks can use a 24-hour clock and still give you the "soothing sound". It's just back in the early days of mechanical clocks, nobody could figure out how to make a 24h version. But I have seen 24hr mechanical clocks so I KNOW they can be done.
