We have a similar thread, but it's only purpose is to show the screenshots. this thread seem to slightly (but enough so it matters) analyse each screenshot (and the sprites).

It looks sort of like a ruby planet or something in the backround of the avian temple.

I can't wait for the Game... I almost missed Part 2... I liked them both because they are extremly informative... When Are you going to post the swimming video? I'm sure you will be the first because I can't find it anywhere on youtube yet.

I love all these screenshots. They just make me even more excited for the game. However, I have a question about the 4th screenshot down on the Second Inside Look. Where they're in that little green jungle-like cave. I noticed some of the backround looked darker than other parts. Are there 2 layers there or dare I say, did some water get soaked up there? To make it darker?

 

It's 2 background colors... How they are correlated or interacting I can't say... I believe they are randomly generated that way but I have no idea if something such as water can cause them to change like that as well. But I do know it's another background acting as the same... I do think it looks great A large amount of artistic talent shown in the game design

 

In the Avian temple picture I noticed some weird red spots in the picture.
Any idea what it is?

 

You can place many blocks in either foreground or the background. (Unlike in Terraria where you had to craft background blocks)
I think that the darker ones are dirt while the lighter ones are grass.

The black stuff could be background at night?
Maybe he's only barely underground.

 

I might as well be the first to leak it... Avian temples are randomly generated so no 2 are the same... What your seeing are plants or a related shrub actually. These plants would have been growing on the background in a cave or something likewise. When the Avian temple generated over it it didn't delete all of the plants/shrubs... You can actually go snatch the plant if you like... It's a little glitch but I hope they leave it in... So where-ever that Avian temple is it is near those type of plant species... The plants are big and small so it looks weird cause they may be bigger than a block wide or tall great question I hope I answered it

YES! you can place blocks of the foreground or background with a simple left or right click You are also correct about the black background it is the darkness at night. The color difference between darker and lighter backgrounds is that is how they generate themselves I really don't know how they interact differently with the environment or even if they do but I know the artistic design looks amazing with an extra color!
