Starbound idea just hit in the face really hard.

First: This is in regards to a potential challenge idea which could be done as a video series, now before you sigh call me a "uncreative sellout" and feed me to a bunch of hungry Florans please read me out.

This is a team base idea just for the purposes of giving it a name I called it "The Quest for the Universe"
where people could organize large/small crews that would work together in inhabiting a planet. Multiple crews "factions" would work against each other collecting resources/fuel to head off to a planet outside the solar system to begin to colonize on it. There could be three phases:

The First Phase:
The phase where you must gather resources until you are capable of heading off to another planet.

The Second Phase:
The phase where you are to leave the planet and colonize a new one.

The Third Phase:
PvP against the opposing factions until one faction is left. (There could be a specific object like a beacon or an anvil that the factions use as an idol. In other words as soon as the attacking faction takes it then it's all over.)

I'd be willing to listen to feedback from other starboundeers who have ideas and if whoever thinks this is a terrible idea that would never work. Now before you say it! I know Starbound is still in beta and that the games multiplayer servers are currently rather unstable. Which is exactly why I'd be prepared to wait anyway. Getting this idea early though will allow it time to expand into something that is actually functional and as it stands now, this is just an idea that can't do anything. (for now.)

 

Sounds good, modding could probably make it work easily.
