Starbound has Voice Acting?

Nah, it WILL be something like the sims language, no doubt about it.
But I guess thats just going to be for another alien race thing, there may be still a human race that will use the human language. But who knows!

 

My dream is to be a Voice Actor so I'd do something like this for free...hell I'd even pay them + my preorder price lol.

 

lol but i think it would look kinda weird idk how but to me that would look weird a persons voice coming out of a tiny pixel body...:/ mainly since they have no body motions besides mining hitting shooting walking falling running and swimming

 

I get it. You desperately want to get your foot in the door. But here's how it is: If your VA work ends up being good enough to be in a commercial game, you should be compensated for it. If it is not up to the devs' standard, it won't be included in the game no matter how free it is. Charity work is for charities, not industry.

So I say to the Starbound devs, have the integrity to pay somebody for his/his contribution if it is included in the game--not that I'm assuming you would ever take advantage of your fans.

I good example of voice acting a language that really doesn't make any sense would be Magicka if any of you have played it. I believe they derived parts of the voice overs from a mix of English and Swedish.

 

With all the current amazing developments its pretty certain they'll add a option for it. Especially if its going for a retro feel in which VAing was still to dawn upon the gaming world.

Yes.

 

Outside of some kind of intro narration, I am not sure if VA work has too much of a place in Starbound... but we do not know the reason this work was being done yet.

 

You do realize this thread is from March of last year, right?

 

You know, voice acting might be a good stretch goal, since they would have enough money to pay for good voice actors.
