Yeah, sorry for the flaming, I'll stop it. I just don't like seeing people spend so many dollars for a computer, when you could buy a normal computer for half the price. I hope you have a good day.

Just build a custom PC which will cost at least half and make it a Hackintosh. You'll get an OSX experience at a much cheaper price and you'll be able to upgrade it easily. :p

Please just make it not require Pixel Shader 3 for any reason...

Low as the dickens, I would say the following would get you to max graphics (this is just my guess based on what the dev crew has said, and videos/screenshots):

AMD/Intel Dual Core processor over ~2.1 GHz per core
    2GB DDR3 RAM or more
nVidia GeForce N9800 GT 512MB/ATi Equivalent
Seeing as it will not have a disc, any harddrive 7200 RPM SATA-X or higher

That should EASILY get you to ultra settings.

You could probably run this on a single core CPU with integrated graphics.

    Not sure about RAM.

I'm actually pretty nervous about this as well. The only thing that lags for me in Terarria is the cursor (it's a little delayed), and the mobs rubber banding during multiplayer.

I'm confident that SB could run on my 5 year-old Eee 900 netbook provided I could find the space on it's puny HDD.

    Seems legit...

If you look at Terraria specs I assume you'll be looking at something similar. Don't know how much hard drive the game will actually take up though.

I don't mean to offend, but what the heck are you using to have to worry about that? PS 3 has been hardware supported for 8 years now.

    [edit] genuinely curious.

You don't need that... Here's MY estimates:

AMD / Intel Single Core Processor, 1.3 GHz per core
    2GB DDR3 RAM
nVidia GeForce 9400M 256MB for best settings. (Perhaps little less particle effects)
And why does the Hard Drive have to be 7200 RPM? ANY HARD DRIVE / SSD WILL DO!

Anything higher than one of those junk macbook air will do. Which mean anyone even remotely into gaming will have

If Starbound has falling bricks (pretty sure it will, right?) then that would be the end of my laptop :(

The lag it would create, like falling sandblocks in Minecraft, or a Dynamite exploding in Terraria (I play those games, like, too much :geek:)

EDIT: (am I saying edit twice, if so, whoops) Yeah, what MEWMEW said
