Closed starbound.exe not a valid Win32 application?

This is what comes up when I try to start the game from the Win32 folder.
The launcher does nothing, but I see that this is being a little common.
This has been going on for over a week, even after a couple of clean installs.
    Any ideas?

Are you using the 32bit version because you have a 32bit operating system?

Verify the game through steam in case anything got corrupted. Since it is nightly, it may just be outright broken, so at worst, wait a day and see if the next update resolves the issue.

Yes, my machine is 32bit and it is the the only version that I have played before.

Just verified the game, and Steam said it was fine.

I'm just being confused because, the only problems I have had before were being had by others. This time I have seen no one else with this problem.

I'm even more confused because normally I'm able to launch both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
For whatever reason, the current Nightly gives me this only when running the 32-bit version.

...followed by Windows' usual "thing has stopped working" message.
The 64-bit version cuts directly to that message and its log file shows no signs of errors, so it must be crashing before it can even tell something's wrong.
But uh, I've honestly never heard of anything about an "invalid application" before. Either way we can easily assume the Nightly's completely broken for now... again.
The whole thing between 32- and 64-bit doesn't make sense to me. The Superliminal ship editor for FTL only lets me use 64-bit, but some remote-control tool called Moonlight only lets me use 32-bit.

Your issue isn't the same. It is generally frowned upon to hijack someone's thread.

That is because it is a system specific issue. Something is wrong on your end, not with the game. Unfortunatly, the error is rather generic, so finding the solution is difficult.
