Starbound: Dropship.

i hope the robot dropship look fitting, i like me some high-tech starship

also, im kinda worried about the space station, we havent heard a single word about it ever. its in the FAQ and thats it

 

Well, we saw two images on it. One of them was showing some kind of ship, and the other was in some kind of laboratory.

 

yeah, but those pictures have been there forever in the media section. we've never really heard or see any up-to-date info about it

 

You cant teleport to the Dropship while on the underground.

 

i couldnt find any emote to symbolise my jaw dropping
which happens everytime i think about the drop ship
so the horror one will have to do.

 

Yeah. That was part of his earlier livestreams if I remember correctly, you can place objects in the space just like if you were in a planet. If it's up-gradable I'm sure there'll be larger ships so you can make multiple rooms for different things. I am extremely curious as to what the Hylotls drop ship is going to look like, since their clothing looks like it's loosely inspired by traditional Japanese clothing. Also they are amphibian/fish people so wondering if there's going to be water on their ship in some form. Like maybe just a small waterfall on the background hull.

I'm hoping they don't actually show too many of the drop ships. I'd rather see it after launch rather then have every drop ship design shown already. :\

The space station is a major and integral part of the game. So I'm pretty sure they don't want to give too much info about it so there's some surprise too it when the game starts. So that's probably why they haven't actually shown much about it, you're going to be going there a lot and if you already know everything there is to know about it before you even play the game, then it'll ruin a lot of the fun of it.

 

I just hope that there is some form of open design on the space station where I can place what I want, where I want it. When SKyrim launched the hearthfire mod I was really amped until I found that there were only 3 wing spots with 3 options for each, but I wanted to use 2 from each. No matter which combo I tried I would lose out on something I wanted. I want my space station to eventually have every possible expansion option and even some redundancies, just in case. Hopefully they'll have a spacesuit available ingame so that I can design my own station block by block if I like. Designing ships could also be quite fun I'd think.

*GASP* Idea: Tyi: please release a mini editor that lets us free place blocks (only those you've released in pics) so that we can submit ship and station designs to help out your art guys. It doesn't need a huge work area, just enough to create descent sized rooms or station modules.

 

I agree! Let us use our grey matter to see what's best put where.

 

Besides, with infinite resources (as long as you're willing to do the work harvesting it!) you shouldn't be restricted to just a few slots anyway.

 

Or even only one space station... *evil grin*

 

A dropship with weapons to make an orbital strike?That desn't make much sense...

 

It would be soo cool if there are ship battles

 

Maybe you could build an automated bomber that you can then call from the surface of a planet for bombardment. Or it could be piloted by a particular NPC you have to hire first. Or you could build a killer satellite. Or you could use a tractor beam to pull a small nearby asteroid into collision course. Whatever. It's just another name for an extraplanetary artillery strike.
