Starbound DJs - Music/Radio station for Starbound users - Feedback on the idea?

Hello Starbounders!

I am currently in a part time study on a Musician course. And I had a 'Lightbulb' moment.
How about, we get some Live DJs, and have a Starbound Radio Station. Basically a Vocal RSS feed, with music.
Maybe have some featuring guests, competitions, quiz time. Get the community together a lot more, make it a lot more fun.
Of course, it wouldn't be turned on as default, and you can choose whether to listen to it or not.

What are your views on this? Good idea? Post your thoughts!

Oh how I would love this, I've already been pumping out Starbound inspired music left and right.

An outlet for it would be so VERY appreciated. EVE Online has something like this as well, player run radio stations you can listen to on board your ship~

And with the licensing on Spotify, you can host music through it no problem. You just have to have the advertisements like on a real Radio.

Very much so, it also gives new artists a great chance to put their name out there, on top of that some of the ads could even be for a player economy, ad's players can put up for trade and the like. At least, as an idea~

Having a Vocal Banner Ad like 'Are you a regular user of the Zeta Server? If so, come to Big Daves general shop' etc...love the idea ;D

 

Also gives a nice chance for would-be voice actors to get in on all the action, brilliant idea, hope the dev's see this~

 

I want. Like seriously, I would love an outlet for my mixes and the things I dig up off the internet (Music wise. Getcho' mind outta the gutter.)

I wasn't thinking of Starbound music, I was speaking of general music. Like an actual radio, get some Skrillex or maybe some Slipknot on there. Have multiple channels for peoples needs. I'm talking an actual general online Radio dedicated to Starbound.

 

I would love to do a spot on there occasionally for some underground dubstep/EDM

 

Depends.

I guess we would need a panel of judges to judge how people are and who gets the main spots, etc, just like on a real radio station.

I'd do this.
My voice isn't very deep, and I can't promise it wouldn't go hiiiIIIIgh. Like a voice break at times.

Oh but the music I know.

 

I used to host a radio and was the main DJ of it back when I played Habbo Hotel (long time ago xD) and I'd certainly love to do it again if you're looking for DJs ^_^

Well, it seems a select few here are really up for it.
I guess we'll have to get this post around a bit, or hopefully just from replies the thread will move up and more people will see it.

I would happily do it also, however the earthing in my room isn't great and I get a buzz from the microphone.....however I'm willing to spend the money to a metal-self-earthed microphone for the job. I have a really deep voice as well, which you can't go wrong with...hopefully...

Too bad it'll probably all end up being the kind of stuff I wouldn't listen to.
