I'm still at work but I'll try to think of more handy dandy tips if I find time to dig around tonight. :D And I agree I've been so happy with this community for a long time, it took some patient waiting but we all finally get to come together around the game we've been dying to help out with!

Excellent starter guide mate, thanks for taking the time to write that out.
Anyone have any tips for staying warm on snow planets besides continously placing & breaking down campfires?

In a moment of panic whilst trying to escape a mob and avoid an acid pit I pressed Q and dropped my Starting sword into the acid I then died before picking it up again by the time i got back it was gone. Iv since played about 3 hrs and my planet seems to have VERY VERY little iron ore. with only a hunting bow i'm not having a great time iv resorted to digging tunnels and boxing mobs all the time My main issue is now that i finally collected enough iron to make the anvil I need to find more to Make a weapon but Killing with the bow Does not make mobs drop Pixels So i'm broke ass poor despite not dieing for the last few hours of play.

Any thing that you can think off that may help me out?

TDLR all those QQ about it being hard DO it with out a SWORD then come complain. Im a dam Aussie and im not giving up.

My best suggestion would be if you have a friend or anyone that can connect to a multiplayer server with you craft you a weapon or start a new character and give you the starter weapon again
If you will be around in like 2.5 hours and could add me on skype (Bloodytrailz just like my name here is for skype) and i could craft you an iron sword..... cuz other than that, the only way to get pixels would be to break containers which is only like 6 pixels a piece :/

Just something I found out today, thought it was better to post it here then a new thread.
It's possible to teleport back to your ship from underground/inside your house if you remove the background by right clicking it with a pick or matter manipulator.
Everyone might already know this, but I only found it out today.

It's uncommon knowledge but i will add it to the interacting with background blocks

Ok, fully up to date with all the information I currently have, feel free to tell me more if theres things you know that would fit into the thematics of this guide :) (Or just useful tips and tricks, preferably which aren't bugs as i don't generally condone bug abuse :p)

    And a title change to:

Just a question...kinda feeling like im one of the only people having trpuble with this.

How exactly do you scan items in the 3d printer?

    (Stupid phone keyboard...)

  11. Bloodytrailz

    Bloodytrailz Astral Cartographer

    You open the 3d printer
    Open your inventory
Then drop the item you want to scan on the top middle into what looks kind of like red crosshairs and hit "scan"

Hope this helps, will add to 3d printer section on main post :)

Linked your compendium in my thread. Let's hope we can keep adding useful info for the new players (which means me finding useful info for myself :D hahaha)

Actually, beta testers is the better name, as this isn't the full game per se. Most people seem to forget we're only really playing to help the devs, not to "build our chars" =)

Arid biome do have trees, it's desert biome that don't.

also i think i figured out how the armor rating/armor pen. works.

armor pen is gives bonus damage based on the mob level, so 15 armor pen. 2-h sword would actually one-shot a lv 10~11 mob
the same way, your armor rating negates the bonus bonus damage from mobs, so a mob lv 10 hitting a char with lv 10 AR will do 20 or so damage, while it will do more or less 10 dmg to a char with 15 AR.
it will one shot char with AR 5 or lower too.

every enemy have 100 health, just like you. the weapons damage is how much you would hit a mob of the same level as the armor pen. (i think)
also, if you get to the core of a planet you can put cobblestone on the magma there and it will spawn a lot of ores.

after you make the metalworks you can also make a item that transform ore in pixels, so you can have a bank of sorts.

    Jackson Mackenzie Yeah, You!

They both have trees. Arid biomes have far fewer trees than forest biomes, and desert biomes far fewer than arid - in fact I've only ever seen two trees in deserts. But they were there.

3D printer will only scan items with pixel cost. And seeds?

there are also jungle biomes, ive only seen one. the one i was on had mostly plant fiber trees that drop fiber instead of wood, but there were a few regular trees too

As far as i can tell, yes this is the case (I will update original post to reflect this info)

    And will add jungle biome~~!

By the way, desert planets sometimes have oases. I ran into a level 2 large desert planet that had a rather large oasis with several rainbow wood trees and oodles of Neon Melons. :>

The snow biome i went to had trees that had like these ice bubbles that were cradled by the branches. When you cut them down with an axe, they yield nothing but ice blocks.
