Starbound coming to Windows 10 and Xbox One via Game Preview!

K... What would you say to a special shop that's getting you parts for your drone? Drone could by upgraded by special tech's like healing, shooting, stunning, smoke bombing and such, being regurally controlled by the A.I, until other player joins. Then it would be more like an actual feature... With a little coop gimmick!

AWESOME CANT WAIT TO BUY IT 2 MORE TIMES or maybe 3. Own it on steam, buying on GOG to share on sisters computer without her using my steam account and I enjoy using Xbox One all the time and assuming crossplay on windows 10 version from their store. Truely a great from seeing early when it first came on steam early access to seeing how great you devs made a truely beautiful game. Also not crazy I'm sure most of us own multiples a few games especially Minecraft and Terraria from consoles to PC copies.

But wondering anyone know whats the ETA of when we can see it on Xbox One Preview program?

Yay another game that is updated (semi) frequently that is going to have a separate version on console.

Warframe, Terraria, and now Starbound... and in all three cases, the Console version ALWAYS ends up being inferior in every aspect. They are always behind on content (because of the whole Cert issue, and in Terraria's case, 505 Games mangling the updates and adding in their own stuff which doesn't fit the game whatsoever), there's little to no mod capacity (modding Console Terraria is actually against the ToS and talking about it on TCF will actually get you actioned/banned).

But you will STILL get people, even after all of this time, who will buy the inferior console versions and they will go "When are we getting (x update)!?" when they were told ahead of time that the console version will be lagging quite a ways behind the PC Version and it could be missing some features.

If I had $0.01 for every time someone asked "When are we getting 1.3 for Console!?!?" I'd be a very rich man. Same goes for when I used to play Warframe, we'd see the same thing, they'd go "But when are we getting (insert 2-3 month old content here)!?"

Consoles just can't keep up with PCs, and that's because of the ridiculous Cert process that one has to go through. And that's assuming that CF isn't going to outsource the porting of SB to another developer. If they do that, when we got 505 Games and Terraria mess all over again.

Let's put things into perspective: Terraria 1.3.0 came out on June 30th 2015.

Today is June 07, 2016.

Console Terraria is at 1.2.4 or something like that and they are waiting on 1.2.4.1 IIRC. PC 1.2.4 went live May 08, 2014. Console got it on Dec 1, 2015. Yes, that's right, it took 505 Games a year and a half to release it.

Terraria developers ARE making shit. this is not the Certifications that are messed up. Certs take MAX 1 week to be done. if Terraria devs were working seriously, 1.3 would have been out maximum 1 month after the pc. that's it. if the guys at Chucklefish are honest, Consoles will be approximately equal to pc. even exactly the same.

look at The Long Dark. the updates on Xbox one comes 1 day later than the pc vetsion because of the certification. 1 DAY not 1 YEAR . Why ? Because the devs are working on both version at the same time. they're just normal devs. not assholes.

 

Funny thing is when Terraria was first released on Xbox One the version was really bad for one reason. The ones making the port make it for only PS4 and copied and pasted it for Xbox One so you couldn't zoom in for about 5 months after release date since only PS4 controllers had the touchpad thing on them which makes no sense to use but PS4 paid them probably so they can say they have games that use that little pad.

 

Hey now, don't blame Re-Logic for that.

The problem is with 505 Games, not Re-Logic.

And look at Warframe... the Console is about 2-3 months behind PC and has been that way for awhile last I checked. So it isn't JUST Terraria, either.

And still, 1 week is 1 week. Do you really wanna be waiting extra time? That's assuming everything goes smoothly and just right and we don't end up with someone like 505 Games doing the console port, lol.

 

I wouldn't cry for 1 week. Just hoping that chucklefish will be smart and honest with us. if it is 1month late, no problem either. just not 1 year.
