Starbound Watch this starship just traverse a vast and unknown universe. The vessels crew is rather small, one explorer - that is all. While he jumps from star to star, his own world now is really far. He left his homes security out of sheer curiosity. Now comes the moment to rejoice, arrival at the planet of his choice. A gizmo-tool is all he needs and of course a handful seeds. You might want to lend a hand, help him explore this alien land. Adventure waits and fun's galore, see "Starbound" now to find out more. This is what came into my mind yesterday, after a rather long Starbound session
Not directly about Starbound, but written because of one thread in the Steam Starbound Forums: I like playing games for sure, have always liked their nice allure. Now many years have gone away, but I never ceased to play... And even when I'm getting old, I fight the ailments and the cold, enveloped in some warming fleece and hold the joypad with the teeth..
Starbound II Finally you found this homey place, at the edge of well-known space, on a planet - lush and green - the most endearing ever seen! First of course it's time to skelter and build yourself a little shelter, so get some cobblestone and wood - but don't forget to look for food! Just sit around sure would be boring, so off you go to start exploring, loaded with gear and full of zest - might find a hidden treasure chest! Fight many monsters on your way, explore dungeons far away, search in mines for precious ore - that's an adventure's life galore! And if someday this gets fatiguing, then you need some new intriguing, go on and leave this homey place - journey onward into unknown space! Just what comes into mind after another lengthy game session And sorry if that sounds odd at some points - English is not my first language.
Starbound III Starbound heroes have a fray with tough decisions every day: Shall they hunt for alien chops or rather harvest healthy crops? What about some expedition to brighten up the disposition? Or rather dig up the planet's crust for treasures, gemstones, gold (and dust)? How about a shopping spree at that Floran's big-store-tree? And then just running by the creek to play with birdies hide-and-seek? The nightfall later ends the trip, the heroes beam-up to the ship. "Each day new planet' is just their creed, so the ship takes off with hyperspeed... Another day, another poem
The "Starbound" Novella Each race in the known galaxy is proud and full of dignity - florets, ape men, finny things, robots, humans, folk with wings. They like to leave their planets navel for some interesting years of travel - the spaceship is state-of-the-art, from the biggest to the tiniest part. Suddenly things are getting bumpy and the flight feels rather jumpy - the engine fails, the hull is cracked, the AI dead, the scanners blacked. Is this where the journey ceases, as the fate now smiles and teases - or will our hero find a way, to rise again and save the day? The story's end is not yet told, accept the challenge and be bold - join forces with the little fella and add to the "Starbound" novella! I will keep to add the latest poem to this thread. Just don't want to clutter up the forum. This one was inspired by the latest news/updates, so please keep them coming
Superior Brain A while ago I had to gain one genuine "Superior Brain". I soundly searched at many places and among all living races. At last some helpful aliens donated enough specimens. But alas - as I probed them quick no one were smarter than a brick. So here I stand and curse my luck - where do I find such brain to pluck. Chucklefish, please end our pain - let's search for one "Inferior Brain". There is this thread about the superior brain - and these are my thoughts about it EDIT: Typo
Starbound - Beta Nightly You're sitting in a rocket ship, having a nice relaxing trip, when the FTL is loosing power - amidst a wicked meteor shower... The vessel then looks really battered, but it survived (and that what's mattered), now is the time to wield the spanner - preferably in an useful manner... The ship's AI was heavy sooted, it has been cleaned and fresh rebooted, the scanners also got corrected - and then one planet was detected... You surely could use ore and wood, maybe some alien flesh for food and all the things one can collect - if the transporter works correct... While busy mining and collecting suddenly you look inspecting, because one underground location - seems to be an excavation... Abandoned goods there can be found, just a few monsters roam around, so why not try and take that stuff - suddenly you are in a huff... All these lamps and chests and tools, boxes, tables, tents and stools, you can't move a single nail - what a pity (and a fail!)... Later, again sitting in your ship and thinking about that planet trip, you understand what happened, sprightly - that was the planet "Beta-Nightly"... After finally opted-in to the nightly built and playing with it a bit (can't wait to see more!) that inspired me to this poem.
We are Starbound once again We are Starbound once again Now with much more to attain Everything was overhauled And unfitting stuff got mauled Our hero is learning now by quests Given by the Outpost's guests Helping them uplift their moods Our reward - quite useful goods The spaceship has seen better days But there's no other anyways Ignore the rust and acid pools Now it's the time to use the tools Start with the hull and all the thrusters Recalibrate FTL adjusters Filling up the fuel tank Check every lever, knob and crank Finally some things got amended Now the ship can be extended Nobody will ever have to eat That's what I call some real feat Of course the game has work still left Surely will be done fast and deft Meanwhile we've got things to attain We are Starbound once again Inspired by the Winter Update
Once again the world is stable. Once again the world is stable. It's time for a new Starbound fable. Old achievements are now gone, but many new things can be done... The starship now will be extended. As home it's really recommended. So many room for staff and guests, tools and food and booty chests... If you keep digging up the ground, mini dungeons can be found, plus lava, oil or various ore, starship fuel and so much more... The Outpost is a vital point, with some unique market joint, The people biding first, but nice. Helping them out will break the ice... The past has seen some ups and downs, with decisions causing frowns. But now the world is up and stable. Let's have a go at the new fable... Time to celebrate, is it not?
Glitch I wonder, who once flipped the switch, thus powering up the premiere Glitch - what might have been the whole intention of that persons odd invention... It surely took some fiddly jobs to sort out motors, gears and knobs - not to mention hull and sensors, plus <some details cut by censors>... Glitch towns now look like collages of the earthling Middle Ages - robots working there as cutlers, as farmers, cooks or even sutlers... The whole life there is calculated and by their rulers regulated - Glitches just obey the orders, no place to think beyond the borders... The snoopiest of the walking cans yet are ignoring rules and bans - traveling to stars and braving hitches to find the one, who flipped the switches... I just HAD to write this, after starting an adventure with my brave Glitch heroine "Boltobot" and their nice naive view of the world EDIT: changed one line, to make the intended joke more clear ;-)
The new cool screenshot and the discussion here: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/interesting-new-screenshot-from-tiy.93113/ was my inspitation for that one: The Strange Altar Oh traveler from star to star, when you find such strange altar - reflect upon the signs and coding, but also notice its forboding... Up left one hand, looking quite sagged. Is that a human, tired and fagged? Did he just fight that giant beast with eight tentacled arms, at least? And what about that lettering around the stony archway thing - what can we learn by knowledge gleaning, when we know it's hidden meaning... Finally there is that pun, six dots around a rising sun - they are starbound, as it were, for adventurers to interfere... All that mysterious and forboding, in this altar's signs and coding - beware, oh traveler, when you trace that uncanny and eerie place...
Planet Tarlet There is a planet made of cake, with fruity milkshakes for a lake, chocolate mountains like a dream, nicely topped with whipping cream... All the trees are candy canes, marzipan used for roads and lanes, houses built with gingerbread, fountains full of tasty mead... That planet surely is just yummy, albeit a challenge for the tummy, yet brings a cheerful disposition, once we are at his position... The inspiration for this one was the dev blog update about "deserts" and the possible mix-up with "desserts"
