Starbound Challenges

Hey guys, aboveordinary here with my very first post on these forums. The idea here is to share various special challenges in the game. Every great game deserves great challenges added by the players.

Here are some of the things that I've come up with so far

• Looter-don't craft anything(or just the basics) and rely on finding everything.
• Nice guy- Don't take from any chests or attack any village people
• Vegetarian-Don't eat any meat or harm any neutral mobs.
• Carnivore-Only eat meats, don't grow any plants for food.
• Hard Mode- You play with a character until you die, then you delete it.
• Stone Age- Only make stone tools

Please feel free to add your ideas and I will try to update the thread as often as possible to create some really cool gameplay challenges

 

I'm about to try the Vegetarian one, since I'm usually going carnivore...it's too easy to be a challenge with carnivore!

 

Some interesting stuff there, I would try nice guy first

 

Trogdor challenge: burninate all the peoples in the thatched roof cottages.

 

Spelunker - Never move right or left more than 1 screen. Only dig down.

 

Paleo - Only eat meat/veggies/fruit (abstained from grains, dairy, and artificial sweets!)
Holistic - Never use a stimpack
Dig Dug - Dig 1,000,000 blocks
Kleux Disciple - Stay in midair for 30 seconds
Embargo Act - Only trade with your species specific vendors

 

Desperado: Must use dual pistols (or 2 of any 1 handed gun) for ranged fighting, no 2 handed ranged weapons, including hunting bow

Strider: Must use Duel Swords, no 1 handed melee weapons

 

Crank challenge: never stop moving?

 

Nudist: Not allowed to wear armour. Vanity slots are ok.

 

(impossible) Bizarro world challenges:

Remove all terrain blocks from terrain level.
and/or
Fill all sky blocks with terrain.

substitute challenge: absorb one planet into another
Travel to A, dig up everything, put on top of B to make B more massive. Repeat until game crashes.

 

I like how you think. Why fly around planets, if you could just build them all into one planet? There's enough room in orbit anyway

 

Terminator challenge:

Be a glitch.
Find an NPC named Sarah or John Connor.
???
Profit

 

Destroyer of worlds:
find a world.
Kill everyone that live there, friend or foe.
Repeat.
Optional: equip some evil looking armour while at it.

 

Obvious challenge is obvious: flag every planet. Go ahead. I dare you.

Pokemon challenge: catch 'em all.

Noah challenge: build an ark and put two of everything in it.

Pacifist Pinnacle: Reach T10 with full impervium, without killing a single mob. (Hint: get villagers and pirates to do your dirty work for you, or use traps)
