Starbound, now officially the game I've anticipated more than anything else in my life. It's turned me into a information-hungry, Dev-stalking, Forum-Scounging Mutant of the human I used to be. I love it. Loveitloveitloveitloveit.

That was me actually, I played quite a bit of Borderlands 2 last month. I was originally going to call my floran Lily, but then decided to just go with Lilith as my little personal tribute to Gearbox.

 

I bet it links to the teleporter color... and if not... DO IT NOW!!!

 

That whole video was awesome, it's great to finally be able to see building in action. I was cheering when I saw the wire system being setup, then when I saw that exposed electricity(wire?) outside.

Also, since I first saw the screenshot of the building gun thing I was trying to think of where I've seen something similar. Then when I saw the beams in action and how they kind of bend as they are moved it hit me. LITTLE BIG PLANET. The construction guns work/look a kind of like the build menus do in that game, I wonder if any of the devs are fans of LBP1/2?

 

I love how diverse the player characters look.

 

Customization and random generation is the best part of the game.

Nice to see the new wiring system. Looks like computers have replaced buttons. The doors have two dots on them. I think the red ones would lock them and the purple leaves them unlocked.

 

I think those two dots are input and output. Tiy came on Irc to ask about what he should make the input and output for wiring look like. So I guess you could use the output to setup a trap that goes off when the door is opened or something like that.

 

That's rather neat.

 

This just makes me want to play Starbound even more now. The building looks very interesting to me, especially with the plasma cutter/rifle looking tool. However, I probably wont be very creative when I build. I'll just wind up making a book fort. Here's a sneak preview:

The exposed electricity is a trap. In the livestream Tiy went into an Apex dungeon and it had exposed electricity that he had to jump over.

Those are input and output nodes. You link an input, such as a computer, with the red and that causes it to open. If you link something like, say another door to the other door's output then the opening of the first door will also open the other door.

 

That's cool, I thought it may have been a trap but I wasn't sure, more traps the merrier I say, hehe. Though I am a little bummed about missing the really long video that was up for a bit, but I'm listening to the interview on indiestatik right now to make up for it.
