Starbound Building Demo

My only criticism of it is that they only showed off Apex materials, but all in all that's fine with me.

 

The Building Demo is amazing. I think if that were the game's trailer, tons of people would buy it just from what they saw from the trailer. Also, I really like that Chucklefish logo at the end. Don't know why.

 

A customization slot for jetpacks?

Sexy.

 

I wish people would stop posting that because that link, at least for me, has never gone to the video, only Tiy's actual stream. Kinda misleading.

On-topic:
I don't think I could say anything specific that wouldn't be pointing out the obvious.
In general: well-done, Chucklefish! The building looks fast, fluid and easy without sacrificing detail or control. I hope that you all can get other features up to this level of quality!

 

I got legitimate emotional delight from watching the Devs all build together.
The music just made it magical

 

The music made me feel like a marshmallow fairy floating through the beautiful twinkling astral that is space. Seriously.

 

It looks extremely cooperative. If I'm seeing it right, a background has to be placed before a foreground object can be placed. Building looks like it's coming along nicely and I hope everything else turns out just as good.

 

Excessive use of Caps, perhaps, but oh well... Yeah, liked it a lot the video I mean, not the caps.

 

That's pretty freaking awesome. Love the wiring system as well as the gravity gun.

 

The laser object thingy placer looks pretty cool . I wonder if you can change the color of the laser particle thing too?

 

This is the third time where I've tried to put up an update thread, and this was the first time I was the first one to do it.

 

i like it... as long as they still have stone blocks and wood blocks so i can still make a castle, im good. lol

(but where is the character creation thing so we can use it to make those forum avatars?)

Nope!

I love the building system shown here, it's one of the most important mechanics, and it's done perfectly! Its much more efficient than others for many reasons, and it let's you easily create an interesting aesthetic.

 

Building is now more than magically materializing blocks, which I think is a swell idea.
