and a avian came up to me and was like.

i was like, why?
he said, "because he has no klue what i'd do to him if he chopped of my wings"

Excellent - man, not a lot of participants on this one! Do you know someone that can make use of a copy of the Starbound beta?

 

I crafted the survival system to breathe in space, but accidentally put it in vanity slot and went to an asteroid belt. Nearly died from lack of oxygen on the asteroid belt and rage googled how to make a helmet because I thought I needed it.

Also I'll pick 9001 because it's OVER NINE-THOUSAND!!

 

I still remember my first visit to a 'friendly' town as a floran...
Lots of jokes about plants and violence, when a pair of birds came down and started killing people.

I remained peaceful and watched them die. Teach them to call me violent

I don't know if this contest is still going, but I have a story to share, so I might as well do so.

I had landed on a desert planet which was mostly desolate. Took a right turn and went exploring through what seemed to be endless sand and land, my mind slowly numbing away from the amount of animals to kill and the amount of nothing that there was, destroying capsules with pixels filled with them and the like. At the verge of giving up, I stumble upon a house in the middle of nowhere. I was ecstatic to find this, of course, since the entire travel through the planet was fruitless up until that point, and I had finally met my first Avian. As she stepped outside, I decided to see what she would say; she wanted to be pen pals! How cute! I was flattered by the offer.

It was then that a meteorite descended down and killed us both simultaneously, and it was on that day that I learned the true meaning of a meteorite shower. I stared at the screen for 15 minutes, and mourned the loss of the A.I. I had hoped to befriend and/or raid. To this day, I still pass by her house, and mourn the tragic loss of such a sudden and ill-fated friendship.

A couple of patches ago, before they balanced the first boss, I put the distress beacon on top of my house. I had no idea he could destroy terrain and he pretty much wrecked the thing.
