Closed Starbound BETA: Bugs Database LU 8.29.14 (Not for nightly)

TL;DR: On game crash; world saved, character and inventory did not.

Walking around my planet mining ores on the surface, found a whole bunch of stuff in chest including a guitar. Died...

On ship after respawn looking at the guitar, played a song and the game "crashed" (took me back to the main menu).

Joined game again and all the stuff (from my most recent planet visit) from my inventory was gone. Back on the planet all the ores and items I collected were gone as they should have been.

 

I created a New Character and started on a Asteroid field, don't know if it's a bug but i'm unable to do anything since i can't breathe there :/

 

They fixed that instrument bug for now, and chests don't put back new loot anymore.

 

You can plant fullgrown rice from a bugged rice seed, and they're harvestable

 

[TYPO]: Description of the Tutu item is missing apostrophes.



Should be changed to: "It's frilly but it won't keep your sugar plums warm."

 

Musical instruments: koto,harp,rock organ,music box fixed...flute got me kicked out game still.
Loot boxes fixed.
Magic scroll? Cannot use at all

 

OR people with different kinds of PCs have different ways in which the game can malfunction. You shouldn't say that people can't complain about something not working properly (although I do think it's silly to assume everything's okay for everyone during beta, that's just foolish) because devs are trying to optimize their software to work on all hardware that meet the minimum specs. Who knows, maybe some people who have the needed hardware are just experiencing memory leaks.

There's no need to start complaining about the complaints on top of everything.

 

Certain things are not stacking with similar items in inventories or storage, for instance I had 3 grape seeds in my bag, and 3 grape seeds in my ship inventory locker and I couldn't put them together, so now that's an extra space being taken up.

Also, is it possible to spawn into game and not be above any planet at all? According to my map I was already on a planet, but had ti waste fuel to "jump" to it again, because it wasn't below me.

 

Bug found: when on a low gravity planet, your character is not under the influence of the lower gravity when standing in between buildings.

 

Windows 8(my system) and Windows 7 (not sure, may be actual for 7 too)
UAC blocking window(dark screen, desktop without other windows, single window in centre of screen, asking for administrative allowance) causes black screen in game, black screen doesn't remove after game windows is focused again. Game, however, continues normally and character can be damaged by hostile npc, even though you don't see it.

just started to get this error when save and exit
If i save and exit from normal play all fine no problem
BUT
wgen i place a toymaker xmas item then save and exit i get a stack error this has happened on the rocket sled small faux fir and red bow dont know if anyone else has a similar problem

 

So far playing "sarabande" on electric bass guitar, bass guitar, and piano has been crashing my game. Not sure if it's for all instruments but for those three I know it does

 

Not sure this has been reported before, but I didn't see it in the last few pages. Reproduced on Angry Koala:

1) Press 'C' to bring up Crafting window.
2) Click on a portion of the "craftable items" scrollbar not currently occupied by the scroll indicator.
EXPECTE The scroll indicator should snap to the location you clicked and scroll the "craftable items" list accordingly; alternatively, it should scroll the "craftable items" list down 1 or more "pages".
ACTUAL: Nothing happens.

1) Press 'C" to bring up Crafting window.
2) Click on a craftable item in the window.
3) Scroll up/down using your mouse wheel.
EXPECTE The "craftable items" list should scroll as you operate your mouse wheel.
ACTUAL: Nothing happens.

i'm pretty sure both of these issues are new as of Angry Koala.

 

spacemarine.chest has two invalid/unknown augments: spiked and glow.

 

BUG/DUPING(?): The glitch/avian/(maybe other race) chests can be abused for infinite loot by repeatedly "placing chest -> looting chest -> picking up chest"

Made an account because I didn't see this anywhere else. I made sure to vote honestly that I've been playing the game rather than helping development.

After defeating the UFO boss. My quests are locked. It says I should still craft a distress beacon. But when I place it, use it, and defeat the boss. No new quest comes up. Does anyone else experience this issue?

 

afaik, nothing does come up, it just gets moved to "Completed".

 

I'm a european player. I play on my Mac Book Pro ( Mountain Lion ) with an AZERTY keyboard.
But I have to launch the game with my MBP in QWERTY keyboard mod to use the right directionnal input (ZSQD for me and not WSQD). It's a little bit annoying !
But I think my problem will be solve when the keyboard input manager will be includ in the game …

 

Flying fish! No seriously, on low gravity worlds the fish can now swim out of the ponds and continue swimming through the air. It's funny as heck but not really supposed to happen .

Since they swim away from you if you're in a pond you can actually chase them out of the pond into the air!
