Closed Starbound BETA: Bugs Database LU 8.29.14 (Not for nightly)

BUG: NPC Spawners may end up spawning clones of the same NPC from the same, single spawner. I.E. Two identical guards or various identical NPCs. I do like getting more for my pixels, but it gets obnoxious when they all move the same path and stand one atop of the other!

 

How do I go back onto star bound now because I tried to download the mod, it did not work so I deleted it but now it does not work. I have tried to uninstall it on steam but that did not help. PLEASE HELP!

Pretty annoying bug with health/armor:

If you are at full health with armor on that boosts health, and you un/re-equip the armor, it will take your health down to the default of 100.

 

Cannot Save Current World! All items placed, buildings made, or mines dug disappear!
My son and I have to Windows 7 home premium pcs running Starbound. Since the last wipe, he has not been able to save any building or mining on his local planet. We tried it first in single player and on his server, but it always shows the original state of the planet. Today we tried to build and mine and everything we did was gone when he left his world. He then tried to go on his server again, and it crashed.

Any help would be appreciated, he lost some cool stuff. Not a bug that I would want to keep.

 

With the grappling hook , if you jump , hit a surface with the hook , you can jump again , this can be used to stay in the air as long as there is something to hook to.

 

the same happen to the apex with hats they spawn bald

Edit : im guessing it happens with certain hats and all races

this is pretty much every game ive ever played.
i don't think they need to change it at all they need to make later tier beds better and the ability to make your own medkits

 

Found a sound glitch with the Human-Mechs. Once you first enter a planet and activate the mech, the sound effect for deploying the mech spazzes and makes a loud horrific screeching sound. There also seems to be no sound effect for the Human-Mech's gun, Im sure this just isn't in the game yet.

EDIT: Turns out this happens more than just the first time its activated on a planet. This should probably be fixed pretty soon. Almost gave me a heart attack and almost blew out my speakers. lol

 

i have only seem to get this on new worlds i visit

 

I'm having strange bugs where I teleport back to my ship if I go way to far to the left or right on a certain planet.
Also this:


It's a strange fog of darkness? There's nothing above this place, this is on the surface.

 

i have found many worlds like this i cant explain it myself but im thinking it has something to do with how they are working the lighting engine.
i want to find a planet of pure darkness if they keep this in.

 

This game doesn't work properly on AMD Processors.
But I don't care so much because I ordered Intel the other day so I should be able to play

 

I found a planet where some only trading npcs are naked and don't have anything in the selling menu

 

Went to bottom of a mountain, could see the end of the background (on the bottom, looked like sky)

 

- special underground areas (the ones with lantern-lit purple pools and the ones with tiny houses) don't spawn chests

- musical instruments don't play music for other people, if you walk into their screen while playing. Furthermore, for them to be able to hear you then, you have to swap out the instrument and then swap back to it.

- bombs can kill friendly players without PVP being turned on

 

"smoothconcrete" material causes the game to crash without any notices when clicked in the player inventory.

 

one of my characters just got erased for no apparent reason. I was collecting ores on a magma planet (tier 7) and suddenly the screen went crazy...like...psychedelic with colored lines and shapes flashing around...i tried to take a screenshot but my computer crashed when i tried to close the game so i couldn't save it. When i re-opened the game my character was gone. My save being deleted might be due to the fact that i quit without saving (had to reset the computer manually, in fact), but i have no clue what prompted the crash itself. In any case it was pretty game breaking.

 

I can't play starbound on my mac... it crashed instantly when i clicked play and i didn't even get though the opening of the game, Just BOOM crashed

 

So, I loaded my game, and when I loaded the character, I was on a different planet entirely.
Well, when I warped down.
Still, the planet changed mid save file.
