If that doesn't count - sorry. I already said that I don't care about it. I just wanted to make a list. And it's made.

 

Just to make sure about the balance of gun right now, I saw - Ranged weapons can require >100 energy to shoot in the post. But is not only that, here some gun I found recently and I want to confirm why is there gun that require so much energy... Here some exemple.

What I found is Shotgun seem to use energy cost like if every bullet from the spread shot could do damage on a single monster, but if you hit a monster with all the spread shot it do only the damage like it was a single bullet shot.
Flaming Bullet type gun has very low cost of energy, my brother found a pistol with flaming type and it still require only 1 energy per shot.
Energy per shot of other than sniper rifle seem to be based on the damage per shot.
Assault rifle : 1431 DPS, 424 DMG, 40 Energy VS Machine Pistol : 1179 DPS, 493 DMG, 48 Energy.
Less DPS but more DMG cost more Energy. I wonder if the dev found out how they could balance, because how its is right now, its confusing.

 

The point is that if this is the best bug reporting Starbound has to offer then problems are going to slip through the cracks nonstop.

 

You can help prevent this by looking for bugs and posting them here. Devs are watching this thread.

notice how it allows you to categorize:
- what type of bug something is
- what project/program/whatever the bug is in
- whether it is a bug or a suggestion
- the severity of the bug

as well as:
- allows for the devs themselves to sort through it and hide bugs that are fixed
- allows the devs to assign people to certain bugs, which is kind of handy if there's a dev team larger than one person
- allows for the community to decide how severe a bug is in a simple and easy to use way
- allows each bug to have its own discussion
- has decent searching
- has timestamps
- gives you a way to refer to a specific bug that will never change, barring database wipe
- automatically gives you changelogs and roadmaps so you know when a new version is ready, as well as exactly what changed
- doesn't need someone who may or may not be reliable to go through a giant backlog and manually add shit
- is ACTUALLY READABLE

a giant glob of text with a few colors to tell you what their state is is not a bugtracker
it is a clusterfuck.

 

I'm talking about bugs that get reported here.

What if YOU categorize a bug as not severe but it turns out it is actually part of a larger underlying issue that affects the entire game? One which is so severe it is part of the root problem causing several dozen other bugs?

This happens. It happens in programming, games and not-games, all the time. And just because someone mentioned it doesn't mean it will get found. In a large colorful list it is far more likely to get ignored than in a tracker.

If you really have the ear of a dev see what kind of service they would prefer using and how they'd like it set up. I wouldn't close this thread for now but definitely if you want to put the effort in get the bugs moved over to a tracker.

It's simpler for most people to understand the idea of posting in a forum than entering data in a bugtracker, so I'd say don't close the thread, but do talk to the devs (like sarcose said) and find out what solution would be best for them.

 

Overview of Bug: Items lack description text

Steps to Reproduce: Via killing NPCs (Mostly humanoid NPCs) obtain the following items:

Slash Smasherizer
Hack Arrowguard
Star Annoyance
Meat Dinnertray


Actual Results: The above items should have a description.
Items appear to be coat of arms. Not specifically decorative or enhance player in anyway. Just sit in inventory.

Expected Results: Items received are expected to enhance player play in game, but instead take up space.

Occurs on Windows 7, latest update 11/12/2013, Indignant Koala.

Overview of Bug
: Performance decrease when holding to many in game assets

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Begin filling your bags with all manner of dirt blocks, rocks, anything to hit the 1000 stack cap multiple times.
2) As bags are filled performance decreases are noticed.
3) Game becomes unplayable with every spot filled with 1000 stack items.
(If required Ill try to upload a video)

Actual Results: Player is affected by poor performance doing a relatively expected gameplay function of hoarding materials. Game becomes less fun once this performance hit occurs.


Expected Results: Player can hold onto as much in game items as bag space allows. Performance is not hindered.

Occurs on Windows 7, latest update 11/12/2013, Indignant Koala.

I'm consistenly finding almost every merchant empty since the last patch. The only ones who appear with an inventory to browse are food vendors and clothes vendors. So far this applies to two villages and a caravan, all in three different planets. I can talk to them and open the trading windows, but it's always empty.
