Closed Starbound BETA: Bugs Database LU 8.29.14 (Not for nightly)

As soon as I click on my character to go into single player, it does not respond and crashes. Any help?

 

After my server starts running, it checks for the ports being open, and then it says "Stack Overflow encountered". Help please?!

I tryed to exit and save the game while I had the poison effect, and it crashed the game with those two errors (from right to left). debug file: http://pastebin.com/8GFU3edx

 

CBA to read this entire thread, sorry if i'm reposting, but i just found a major dupe glitch, in multiplayer if you have a friend beam to your ship, then save and quit, they can take everything, and then you can rejoin and still have all your shit since it's client side. Incredibly easy duping which I would hope to see fixed, or possibly the addition of server side character possibilities for servers.

 

1. The most major of the bugs we have found is a duplication glitch.
When in a party with somebody, have them teleport to your ship then close the client while the other player is still in your ship.
This person shouldn't do anything until you log back in. When you log in you are no longer in the previous party.
The other player is now in a clone of your ship and can take everything in it (when you leave the cloned ship the client usually freezes or crashes but you simply need to re-log and you don't loose any of the duplicated items), effectively a game breaking dupe glitch.
2. I am not sure if this is an intended feature or if it's a bug, when you are underground if you break the background all around your character you can teleport to your ship.
3. Sometimes when you try and teleport to the ship of another party member, it shows an option to teleport to your own ship instead. (relog fixes this)

 

Upon beaming down to the planet, the game will occasionally zoom in to x4 view and flicker black before crashing

 

Two glitches this time:

First one shows a full hunger bar but it describes how the character is feeling at half hunger (save+quitting fixed the message)
Second shows awkward clippy issues with flower trees when they lean. They don't seem to clip well in that state.

 

Hey friends! I'm not sure if anyone's posted anything about this yet, but when playing a song using an instrument, and then switching to another instrument while the song is playing just has you playing the original song in whatever instrument you were using at first.

e.g. You play canon in D with a clarinet and switch to the accordion and it still sounds like you're playing the clarinet!

 

My 2 issues are:
- Crops not growing while being off planet (or not growing AT ALL in some multiplayer instances)
- Multiplayer: If two characters stand on each other, item picking will ALWAYS prioritize the host, resulting essentially in a situation where you cannot pick up anything as long the host is near your character, whether its pixels, blocks, loot or anything else. Loot pickup needs to be (at least) randomized between the characters standing near each other.

 

I found a typo. The Avian Sandstone Statue I misspelled as Asvian Sandstone Statue.

 

i understand not reading the whole thread, but really? you're gonna repost the post directly above yours lol? at least read the last post of the thread. also you don't have to close the client, you just save and quit, you can rejoin right away.

 

I duplicated a tent by pressing E exactly at the same moment that I placed it.
The tent was placed on land but it didn't disappear from my hotkey bar.

 

So, I believe this is only happening to me. When I start playing starbound Searchfilterhost.exe gets crazy and starts using a lot of cpu power, even when the game is closed. Uninstalling starbound fixes the problem. I don't have any fps problems ingame and I'm using windows 7 ultimate.

 

When your character has more than 100HP, respawning only gives you 100HP and you must recover the rest on your own. Much worse when your max HP is 500.

 

The item Ice Chunker, causes the game to crash when scrolled over when in a chest or the inventory, I tested this multiple times, I even broke the chest it was in to test if it would crash the game while in my inventory and it does( This is how I found it's name as well, with the pick up message).

 

Rare ores are way to common with the newest patch/hotfix.

Once you unlock tier 3 planets, you can find diamonds, platinum, titanium, and gold all on the surface when the common surface ores should be coal, iron, and copper.

Also, once unlock tier 3 planets and you go back to the first and second tier planets, you can find gold on the surface very easily, as well as iron, silver, and almost no coal whatsoever.

Once I've unlocked the tier 3 planets, coal is as rare as gold was before the patch/hotfix.

This MUST be changed because it is making the game far too easy to advance, yet way to hard to even leave a solar system because of the lack of fuel.

 

I don't know if this has been explained (it's just listed as "Character doesn't spawn with full health"), but the reason the character doesn't spawn with full health is because they only spawn with 100, presumably because this was the maximum amount health in the previous version and they forgot to update it to spawn you with your personal maximum health. Might help with fixing it to quickly know what the problem is.

 

an addendum to this, when i got to my computer just now a friend asked be if i had REALLY been playing Starbound for like 12 hours straight, or if i had accidentally left the launcher open, which i have done before, since Steam said I was in the game. I had not played that long, and I could not see the launcher open, so i checked the processes, and there it was, running in the background. when it got this error it must not have fully closed. I swear, this game will end up with the highest playtime ever from be between stuff like this and me forgetting to close the launcher.

 

Muted the music and checked make fullscreen on the options menu, clicked ok and crashed to the following.
Access Violation detected at 0x57dcae1a (read of address 0x7e069dd8)
and then a new one with this followed by three C++ runtime error boxes
