    I picked up a Flesh Strand and it unlocked a Flesh Block which requires... 1 CRYSTAL? Shouldn't it be 3 flesh strand to 1 flesh block like mushrooms and such?

    Also there are 2 Bone Block "variants", one requiring 3 bone and another requiring 4 bone.

    Speaking of mushrooms I'm not getting any mushrooms from the ice (arid?) planet light blue mushrooms.

    The weirdest thing happened to me. I'm playing as a Glitch character, and I stumbled on an apex village. I climbed one of their appartments, and I then made my way down, by pressing DOWN + JUMP, to descend the ladder section. promptly DIED from full health (it was 2 floors high, so nothing big).

    After respawn traveled the same path and encountered something that for sure was not there when visiting the first time. Strange wooden constructions with water floating in thin air. It was also possible to place torches in thin air at that spot. Some of the wood was obsidian-colored (far left).[IMG]

    Game crashes periodically when typing in to crafting screen.

    If a chair is placed on the other side of a closed door, it is possible to sit in it and reach the other side of the door (Possibly not a glitch? I'd like to think locked doors should be possible and not sit-through-able).

  6. The Enlightened Grue

    The Enlightened Grue Master Astronaut

    so I was making a "Legacy Facility" in single-player on the off chance that universe data is not wiped- leaving only items I *think* won't be affected by the upcoming wipe and reorganization of data, when I found that building it directly over the LZ causes this :
    (as an aside, I haven't broken a single block on this planet that I didn't originally place)

  7. Mooneyes

    Mooneyes Space Hobo

    When trying to warp from my ship to a planet's surface, it usually keeps beaming me back to the ship and I have to do it 4 or 5 times before i'm beamed to the planet
    When in multiplayer lag will "eat" items if the item is being thrown on the ground or if you're holding items during lag
    Additionally sometimes chat boxes do this. Only experienced it from NPCs

    I don't know if anyone has this problem, but my character moves really slowly, doesn't matter where or what species. Kinda like when I had the frameskip off on Terraria. everything moves faster than me though and I can't cope...

    Seen this happen as well, seems to be a building generation error since it uses a template and the 'floating water' is where the backwalls were removed, as well as any other blocks in that area.

    Anyway my bug I'm reporting is that sometimes when the sun sets, or rather when it turns night, the lighting transition seems to jerk. As in it'll get darker, then lighter, and repeat this gradually until it turned night. Only saw it once. Single player, so it wasn't a matter of lag on multiplayer.

    If the morphball tech is buried in gravel or sand, it becomes impossible to stand. Assuming I'm not missing something, the only way of escape seems to be breaking the gravel or sand using bombs. Which, needless to say, is a tactic that almost always results in what's more or less suicide or at best an almost-emptied health bar.

    Client-side bug

    I'm aware a "can't beam down" bug has already been mentioned, but I think this one is different as the symptoms are slightly different to what others have described.

    Running a server on Debian Wheezy 64 bit. Since the most recent update, new characters cannot beam down from their ships, but characters that existed before the update can. When a new character connects to the server, there is no world shown beneath their ship and when attempting to beam down, the animation is shown and the character disappears, but the screen remains focused on the ship. Clicking the beam action again shows the leaving animation again, but the character does not return. Clicking the beam action any number of times makes no difference, nor does waiting for a few minutes. Existing characters from before the update have no problem playing on the server and there are no lag issues.

    If a new character connects to the server and joins a party, they can teleport to others and visit worlds and play the game just fine, but their ship remains "lost in space" with no world beneath it. Moving the ship in single player to an alternate location or having a working character to visit the new characters' single player world location on the server makes no difference to the problem.

    If the new character connects to the server and instead of attempting to beam down, attempts to access the starmap, the client side game crashes with the following crash log:
    Error: Fatal Exception Caught: MapException: Key '' not found in OrderedMap::get()
    ./starbound(_ZN4Star13StarExceptionC2ERKSs+0xfe) [0xc00f0e]
    ./starbound() [0x6e47f8]
    ./starbound() [0x6d2a0b]
    ./starbound() [0x5fce21]
    ./starbound() [0x60528c]

    ./starbound() [0x66c28c]
    ./starbound(_ZN4Star11PaneManager6renderEv+0x2f8) [0x65f878]
    ./starbound(_ZN4Star13MainInterface6renderEv+0x6a) [0x57ed1a]
    ./starbound() [0x5395fc]
    ./starbound(_ZN4Star19StarApplicationBase3runEv+0x52d) [0x54c75d]
    ./starbound() [0x5335ca]
    /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xf5) [0x7f24cff23ea5]
    ./starbound() [0x53830d]

    This crash occurs both on Windows clients and Linux clients.

    The server log shows no indication of any errors server side.

    This effectively locks new characters into their ships unless they can join a party, and then they are reliant on the other players to travel to other planets.

    I'm going to try a new universe as it seems the most obvious solution, but wanted to document this while I could reproduce the problem.

    There seems to be a bug regarding playing instruments on multiplayer servers. I think this has something to do with the connectivity, though by no means can I reliably guess if music playback from other players is client-side or server-side.

    Basically - sometimes other players will fail to generate music despite playing instruments. You can always hear your own music.

    I wasn't able to replicate the bug reliably, but it seems to happen most often when three people try to play in a band, possibly when they try to start their playback at the same time, though reports of "being deaf" were made before we began playing with the band feature. Changing maps doesn't seem to fix this bug reliably, though it may cause other players to temporary regain their music for the client. This can, again, go away at whim. A curious case we've encountered with that - while playing a longer tune together, we began 'dropping out' for each other. It's worth noting that no two players reported the same player silent - we were three. A couldn't hear C and B couldn't hear A while C couldn't hear B, such sort of situation.

    Restarting the client fixed the problem temporarily as soon we once again lost the ability to hear each other.

    I don't just get - Resizing windows when playing in window mode makes background music change.
    the game often just crashes with error windows everywhere if i try to resize the game window.
    i've had it happen a good 6-7 times now

    WaxFx Yeah, You!

    Zooming out on the starmap sometimes causes application window go from fullscreen to windowed and setting the overall zoom level to maximum.

    Going to [options] and setting back to fullscreen fixes it.

    If you press escape while the game is loading, it errors out. This can be reproduced only if you manage to make the game stay at the loading screen, and you can resize the screen.
