Starbound before Christmas?

they should release an application for your computer that would randomly generate monsters and maybe stats if they have the extra time. then we would have a great Christmas present, and the devs wouldn't be rushed.

 

I hope they release it when they think it's done! Just finished watching 'indie movie', it makes me worry about the sanity of indie developers...

 

It takes a madman to attempt to make an indie game, because they're so risky. No point in worrying, they're already insane xD

 

I could see incoming out this years... I mean it looks like they have a good chunk of it done I mean look at all the mobs they have generated, they have screenshots of them carrying a ton of items, they have water physics, lighting and gravity all done, I mean, in my opinion it looks like itll be playable in 2 months...

 

I think it'll take a long time to fully balance and polish that stuff

 

Call me selfish, But I'd take a game that isnt 100% ready for xmas. Maybe 90% ready. Maybe there'd still be a few bugs, but nothing gamebreaking, so yeah.

 

I can deal with bugs. I play skyrim even though it crashes every 20 minutes (or less if I travel to cities). Just kidding... I uninstalled Skyrim from my computer since it was so stupid crashing every second.

But yeah, I think (possibly), that Starbound was originally set to be out by August, but then was delayed... So, I really hope it isn't delayed a second time (if what I heard earlier was true), and christmas would be wonderful, ironically I bought terraria on christmas day.

There are fixes for that in mods/ console commands... Like I think if you hit ~ then type PCM every so often it'll fix the game cause my game got really laggy after a lot of playing, but that fixed it... ( I have a gaming pc, so yeah...) anywaysssss Ill take glitches, I'm fine with them

 

Hmm, my game didn't have lag, just crashed randomly.
But yeah, I found it a bit annoying that Skyrim had such a large budget, and so much developement time, yet crashed so often. Oh, and then rather than fixing the crashes, they just decided to add DLCs...

*facepalm* How I wish for Oblivion with better graphics.

Meh. I'm fine with the long wait. Makes it more worth the while when the finished product comes out.
Don't know about you guys, but I kind of LIKE there being no gameplay footage.

It keeps your mind thinking about what the final game will look like, and make everything a surprise.

I like how they make the videos now. Short and simple, focusing on only one element, and demonstrating just the basics.
Leave all the complicated stuff up to us, makes it more fun.

 

It's the engine I bet.... Their engine has never been good, but skyrims is a lot better, idk, hope you find a fix though!
Anyways, I would like to see gameplay footage.... I mean I'd like to watch something and decide "am I really gonna like this?"

 

Skyrim crashed for me quite a few times on my ps3 but I saved often. On an unrelated note my brother bought the basement collection on Steam wich includes the binding of Isaac and the other games that guy made (I forget names easily) and it lags like hell ,do any of you have the game and does it lag for you or is it fine?

They havn't even released the Avatar creator for the forums yet. So I don't think it's going to be coming out anytime soon.
