    "Star" has 4 letters, "Bound" has 5
    4 . 5 = 20
    "and the number" has 12 letters
    42 = 10 . 4,2

    20 + 12 + 10 (from the 10 . 4,2) = 42

    See, now we know the relation between starbound and 42! :whistle:

    So one of the planets we can adventure on in-game will have, at it's core, a conputer terminal and two white mice...

    S= 19, Divided by 9 for "Starbound"= 2.11.
    T=20, Divided by 9 also, which = 2.22.
    A=1 / 9 =0.11.
    R=2, B=2.22, O=1.67, U=2.33, N=1.56, D=0.44,
    All numbers combined= 12.44.
    12.44*3.14=39.08.
    Unless in 2.92 days Starbound comes out 42 has nothing to do with it.
    I liek mathz.

    But you forgot that the special "\o" symbol in the starbound name adds 2.92 to the final value.
    Therefore starbound equals 42.

    That's impossible because the universe is only 13.7 odd billion years old.

    Well a light year is how far light travels in a year, because the universe is around 14 billion years old anything longer than 14 billion light years doesn't exist because for it to exist it'd have to be older than the universe you'd just break the laws of physics (aka I couldn't actually fathom what would happen) if you could conjure up a 40 billion light year long shape.

  13. EliseBambi

    EliseBambi Yeah, You!

    Silly. They are saying that there is something 42 billion light years old. That doesn't make sense. A light year isn't a measure of time. Its a measure of distance; which is to say, that 42 billion light years, or, 2.46896992 × 1023 miles away, is the area of the/a/in/or/was/were universe where starbound occupies. Which is to say, further away than we have the capacity to view, observe, interact with, or do anything except theorize about, starbound is happening at this exact moment. Maybe in 42 billion years we will see it, probably not. But there /could/ be another section of the void, an extreme distance away, where other stuff is happening. :U Also the universe is somewhere in the order of 14 billion years old. .... Maybe. WHAT IF THAT PARTICULAR BANG THAT WAS BIG, WAS 14 BILLION YEARS AGO. and there were LIMITLESS AMOUNTS OF OTHER BANGS SPREAD OUT OVER AN UNLIMITED AREA OF EXISTENCE. >:O

    Edit:
    Also the current model of everything still has answers that need to be found, and questions that aren't yet known. As far as we know our plane of existence could be wrapped around upon itself in a cyclical (toroidal*) manner. Or there could be a finite amount of space. Or an infinite amount of space. Or an alien race is toying with us and controlling everything we see as a thought experiment/entertainment. Or we are all dreaming and inside of a matrix like machine. We don't know. :U WHO KNOWS, GEORGE LUCAS COULD BE RIGHT, AND A LONG LONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY, FAR, FAR AWAY....

    Okay, If there was something that huge, it'd have an insane gravitational pull and doom everything in the universe because its so huge we could only see a portion of it in the 14 billion light year radius (this all being theoretical, if we could see as far as we could see) but the whole 42 billion light year radius object we couldn't possibly see all but it'd still exist outside of our universe and we'd see it, OH FUCK, WHAT IF THE UNIVERSE'S AGE IS THE LENGTH OF TIME LIGHT HAS BEEN AROUND AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED ON THE BOG BANG IS BECAUSE OF ELEMENTS VERY VOLATILE TO LIGHT. (This is actually mindfucking me right now.)

    The sequence 424242 occurs at position 242,424 after the decimal point in pi.
    So maybe there will be 242,424 different mobs in the game?
