    Hey folks!

So, I'm just curious, is anyone worried that the end of 2012 will come and the world will blow up  (you know, all that bumf about 2012 being the end of the world etc.), before getting the chance to play StarBound?!

I don't believe it at all and I can see me playing Starbound happily next year at some point, but then a little annoying part of me says... "But what if it does happen? What if the world ends, BEFORE you get to even play Starbound!! "

I don't care about telling the girl I love that I love her, or blowing all my money on cheap booze and women. If the end of the world gets declared, I think the developers should release Starbound straight away, to give us a few days, hours or even minutes of playing, and allow us to die happily!

I want to be sitting in my underpants eating sugary cereal and playing Starbound right up until the point the world implodes or whatever, and then, I'll be standing in the line to heaven, in my underpants with my bowl of cereal, bragging to everyone, "Yeah? Well I got to play Starbound! :p"

    I can't wait for this game! X3

Too bad that the Mayan's didn't know about leap years. The real date for the end of the world has actually already passed.

This post made me happy at the end of a long hard day.
I don't believe that there's anything going to be happening besides Christmas.
    And Starbound.

My view on the whole point though, is that the ancient Native South Americans just ran out of space, or didn't want to continue past a certain year.
Either way, it's highly unlikely that a cataclysmic orb of death is going to fall out of the sky. Or that we're going to implode.
Also nobody wants to post into the "what is your biggest fear about starbound" thread, they want to be special.

    1. It does not matter if their calender factored in leap years or not.
    2. No, the date has not passed.
    3. It's not a doomsday prophecy, it's the end of a baktun.

Seriously, this whole Mayan and Leap years crap is getting out of hand, learn to research before spouting nonsense as fact.

As for the Mayan calender being a countdown to the end of the world, it's nothing more than nonsensical fear-mongering. Guaranteed on 12-22-12 another garbage theory will take it's place.

Even if it does end, you'll be able to play Starbound in heaven, soo don't worry about it.

Professors don't know everything, nor are they always right. Never consider information from a single source as credible without further research.

I wasn't targeting you directly with what I said. The whole "Mayans didn't know about Leap Years" thing is popping up everywhere with little to no actual research on the matter itself or the fact it's not even important. Also the fact that it leads to the complete mathematical failure that the date of 12-21-12 on their calender has passed already.

I apologize if my post came off as insulting and/or attacking you, it was not my intent.

What most people don't seem to have the brainpower needed to realize is it's not an "end of the world", it's the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar. Unless you fancy yourself a blithering drool-monkey there's zero reason to even remotely consider the thought of an end of the world in the presented sense. Trust me, the world WILL end, but that's billions of years from now. End of the human race? Perhaps sooner, but it sure as hell isn't happening before Starbound comes out.

World starts ending; you can hear the hooves of the horsemen, the breaking windows and the cracking concrete and society collapses.
As your room is enveloped in fire, you hit the last key of "playstarbound" before hitting Ctrl enter.
You rush to the forums, halted by the rule acceptance message, one of your arms is pinned by falling rubble,
and there, among the thousands of threads created in the last hour, you type out your dying words as the world falls into shadow
"TIYURI.. WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME..."
