Yeah messed with it some more, it seems that so far regarding the parts, there are some things to note:

Legs are a dump stat so far, there is almost no situation where you need to walk fast or jump high with a mech as the main areas where you get components for mechs involve near exclusively zero-g combat.

The drill is amazing and I love how useful it is for deflecting the asteroids and more demonic spider-esque ramming bots.

I cannot stand the slow-firing projectile weapons, and have taken a liking to the missile arm for now, trying to get components for a tommy gun upgrade before going for the next tier of components.

Found a much more powerful and useful mech body recipe than the mid-tier violium one the penguin gave me requiring an even more advanced component, yay.

    After having played a good bit, here's my critique;

    Pros:
    - Mech movement feels good. Even the crappier parts make you feel like a tank.
    - Zero gravity controls are wonderful.
    - New navigation window is awesome

    Cons:
    - New navigation window isn't obvious on how to navigate it.
    - Pausing when solo is annoying.
    - Mech movement on foot is slow, even with the best legs. Give us some fast feet.
    - Poptop Plushie's art was ruined. It looks stupid now.
    - Shield Arm for the robot isn't obvious on how it works
    - Mech part assortment isn't that diverse. Most guns are pretty much the same thing.
    - Those green robots that always stay at a distance and leave poison are ANNOYING

The shield arm is the most frustrating thing of the update, from what I've run into. It's so useless since it simply shields wherever you clicked, and stays active for way too long. A directional shield the player can control would make far more sense.

Otherwise, a way to upgrade parts you like the look of would be fantastic. I love the default body you start with, Venturer-00, but it's useless after finding pretty much any other body. Something like the weapon upgrades, but for mech parts, would be great. I know it's easy to mod, but still.

I'm not sure if I'm getting better at reading this stuff or you guys are getting better at translating things down to my level, but I can almost understand these behavior files .

I also disliked Perfect Armor nerf. I spent hours gathering all those itens to make it, so it should be worthy of.

Besides this, very nice work! Love you, Chucklefish!

Why is it annoying? The game only pauses when you bring the Escape menu up, and the only things IN the Escape menu are things like options, quit/resume, etc. Meaning, things you'd never want/need access to while the game is running.

I don't understand why you want to have the main game menu up and NOT have the game pause?

Didn't see it mentioned, possibly a known issue with this unstable, but NPCs seem to be unable to follow the character for escort quests making many side quests impossible to complete.

I just discovered the fun of raiding an enemy ship. Breaking the glass, grappling to a wall, and knocking people into space is diabolic. I love it!

I'm used to the game not pausing. I'm also the kind of person who hates having his flow interrupted. So many times in just an hour that I've panicked from too many enemies swarming me and I hit escape one time too many. I'm now frozen, and my controls don't work. I'm the kind of gamer who keeps going until they find a safe spot to stop; I can't stop in the middle of a fight and resume it since it kills the flow of the fight. It just irks me.

Sounds like somebody just can't wait for the upcoming influx of Starbound eroge mods.

While I understand what you're saying, I highly disagree. The lack of an ability to properly pause has been a pain in my keister for the last couple of years. And I greatly welcome having the ability to pause now.

...Why are you slapping the escape button during fights, anyway?

Shame about perfect armor though. I sort of understand why they didn't like it being better than the other T6 sets, but I don't see why it needs to be worse. Seems like the logical compromise would be to make it exactly as good as the others, but boost all three stats equally, instead of focusing on one. That way each crafted armor and perfect armor would all have their place.

Grubageddon said it best. While I can understand what you are saying I also highly disagree with your reasoning for removing the only way for players to pause the game. For you it may be a bad thing but you gotta understand that for literally everyone else it is only a good thing. I'm sorry that it is an inconvenience for you personally, I really am but I really do hope you aren't the type of person who is willing to remove a good feature just to ignore the sake of the majority. I also questioning why you are spamming the button during fights as well, If you need a menu to spam open then try the inventory I guess. It isn't like what kind of menu it is will change anything when ultimately it is just a weird quirk that you have anyway.

Well, I guess I'll be updating my Minecraft resource pack while all my mods are updating. All the ones broken by the update, anyway. Which, with Starbound's uncannily independent modding system, shouldn't be too many. Frackin' Universe should be down for a couple days, at least.

I've noticed that there are hostile ships. Could this be a step towards us being able to use the laser cannons on our ships?

AFAIK, you can only use your mech to board their ship... dunno tho, I've tried flying to one and my teleporter won't work so I assume you gotta have a mech before you can do it.

It is in fact not reasonable. Due to slight differences in orbital speed, any astreroid field created around a parent body will eventually spread out around the entire orbit ("Eventually" being basically no time at all at cosmic scales). The only possibility would be if some event had JUST created the field, such as the first Death Star destroying Alderaan.

Also, the brown colour is very hard to read on the dark theme of the forum. Please don't use it where it doesn't serve any purpose.

So you have actually checked this already, correct? Existing fields have not been wiped, but had their gravity set to 0?

On that last one, the poison cloud enemy? Just don't follow them so blindly, they are more there to try and trap you in place than anything else. Use gatling guns on them and focus fire them down fast. Honestly I hadn't found them to be all that annoying as they die to fast to me. Also consider boosters sooner; at speed 3 and maneuverability 3 you can actually out-maneuver anything and keep them from hitting you, letting you use a second ranged weapon rather than a drill. The annoying enemies to me are the ones focused on ramming you, until you improve your speed and maneuvering your forced to use a drill to deflect them, lowering firepower tremendously.

As for the mech movement on foot, it seems to be a dump-stat I hadn't found anything where you need to walk in the mech for protracted periods of time.

I haven't tried the mine throwers yet, but the missile arm rack can also be good for hitting enemies which are evasive with some practice and does a lot of damage for a low tier mech gun.

Certanly took some time, but looks quite fun, so not gonna complain! :D Any Ideas on the future updates, or just full focus on Wargroove?

My dream update would be the story one. When you get back to earth, rescue survivors (Someone had to survive on that rock), reuinite people, terraform it back to it's glory etc.

Expensive thing, restoring Earth. Would require gathering resources, influence from other races. Workforce etc. Maybe visiting their home planets?

Finally rebuilding Terrane Protectorate of corse! Our friends making the new council, giving you new type of randomly generated quests. Protecting settlements from raiders, cultists, wildlife, maybe something ala Spore. Like sick animals, etc.

Everything in quest manner of corse. Earth being that new collosal Hub world, like Outpost.

Oh oh oh! Maybe as a final award, a device called a ,,City Planner". When you pop it on a planet, design your city, pump resources into it, and it will flatten the ground and build it?

Just some suggestions. Don't hate me for it. :p

I like the mechs and the station though I did find a major crash when you try to place a mech landing beacon.
Also I have to launch the game from the folder not via steam, if I launch through steam some how the game crashes.
