Starbound 1.0 not starting up

i don't even have that folder and it still dies! D=

 

i kinda just reinstalled it .-. but i will check and post that log thing if it still dies

Reinstalling somehow solved it but my entire rebel city got wiped ;-; it took so much time to build that

I don't know why... I reinstalled the vcredist, both x64 and x86, and I had all of my mods removed far before that. It suddenly shuts down but I can't tell why, even with the whole script.

 

same happens to me as well.

Tried:
uninstalling/reinstalling
installing on a different drive
uninstalling and reinstalling visual c++

and didnt help. and i have no "unpacked" folder.

I seem to be having the same problem.. I'm not a new player i have over 200hrs in Starbound but i have not played it in a long time. Also when i start the game it doesn't generate a log.

P.S I have tried what most people are saying. reinstall both the game a c++ restarting my pc ect

 

My girlfriend is having all these problems and we've done everything to try and fix it. She's restarted her PC five times, uninstalled and reinstalled the game four times, uninstalled and reinstalling visual c++ didn't work for some reason, though. WE'VE DONE ALL THE THINGS. She isn't a new player, either, she's played the game quite a lot, but never had a problem. No "unpacked" folder either, just "packed".

 

I wasn't able to launch from steam at all, but I went to the folder and was able to launch the 32x exe, but the 64x exe does not load (and is missing tons of files in the folder also)

Ok,Let's get started:
My Game just can't start(As seen before in many cases)
My ASSETS Has Packed.pak and the User file
Into _CommonRedist i have the vc_redist.64x and 86x and installScript

I Read the threads and i went up to try Deleting the Starbound directory on the Steam Files,Reintalled it on steam and tried to launch the game "manually" by going on the Game files and entering both Win32 and 64...
The Two have the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0-dll error,so i went up to reintall the Redists:

I Tried reinstalling the Redist.64 and 86,but this unspecified error happens...

I have tried every solution i could come up with and that i saw in this posts
But unfortunatly none of them made my Starbound 1.0 Experience start

 

Yes, yes we have. I suppose we'll just have to wait until more and more people complain about this problem and have the Devs do something about it and fix it for heaven's sake. Perhaps remove whatever's preventing the game from start might be faster, even if it's temporary. And on another side, start searching for a way to fix it without deleting it. But for now, I believe removing it from the game is what's best.

 

I tried an initial uninstall/reinstall, no dice.
Went in, saved an extra backup copy of my saves and then wiped all other evidence of Starbound from my PC. Luckily I don't even use mods anyway, so reinstall (again) and... Victory.
Or at least partial victory. Because 1.0 refuses to recognize my saves.

 

Seems as though we have enough people complaining about it.

 

Someone one steam just uninstalled all of their C++ versions and then reinstalled the one that SB needs and it fix it for her... I don't know if i should try this because i was told to never uninstalled the older versions of C++. Does anyone on here know if deleting the older ones and bad?

 

I tried deleting the game but I can't find the /starbound folder and it keeps saying that it is syncing then running but nothing happens
Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

what did you do while "wiping all evidence" i uninstalled starbound and its folder got deleted. is there an extra "%appdata%" im not aware of? please help.

 

So many people are waiting for a fix but i feel like they would have said they are working on a fix if they where working on a fix... I feel like we are just being brushed under the rug! I'm not the kind of person who get mad easy but the fact that the devs have said nothing but "try reinstalling it" bugs me to know end!!!! And now they are boasting about how many people are playing the game

 

That's strange, I removed the mod from starbound completely, Dunno why it's still asking for an update, but alright. Okay so I just downloaded it and extracted it in the mods folder. It didn't crash when I launched it but.. It gave me this error: Installing and uninstalling mods can corrupt your save files, you may want to back up the 'storage' directory before continuing. I clicked on OK and I'm able to play anyway. Thanks so much, seriously.

I kind of know what to do but I'd like to hear your opinion, just in case, since I'm no good at this.
