Alright, so this was an idea, that I wish had been in MC, FC, and Terraria, so... 4th times the charm? :)

I'd really like to see the ability to create stained glass, to be able to create mosaics that would in turn have the light change colors as it shines through them, and in having the ability to make the stained glass you'd be able to make a nice array of colors. I was thinking you could just put the dye in with the sand when you smelt the glass, being the easiest route to implementing how to craft it. Thoughts?

I love the idea of " Stained Glass " it would make buildings and other sculptures look great! :)

I'd love this. I was sad Terraria didn't have this.

I don't do pixel art myself but that would come in pretty handy for those that want to in game.

Not my cup of tea, but I'd love to see what people would do with it.

Just wondering, since it would have to be a 2-D world, would it be a background block, or would it be solid? That would change the implementation quite a bit ...

Stained glass picture of a cat, just imagine it.

I think it could work as both, I'm not entirely keen on how the light mechanics work, but perhaps the block type could give a more "spotlight" effect, angle varying on the position of the planets light source, while the wall form of the stained glass would be a more ambient effect as your looking right into it. And by putting different colored blocks side by side (assuming the light works how I suggested) in the cross-section they could blend.

I think it would work best as a "solemn OMG I'm in church" flat pane-type block rather than a 1970's "look at me I'm smokin man" glass block. As a builder/designer I can see huge murals created with light streaming through them. *sigh*

The way I imagined it was that if placed in the background it will look a lot calmer, with natural light coming through, when placed in the foreground however you can get all your crazy colours with artificial lights.

I really love this idea. You could make some really nice looking stuff with this, I know I would with a lot of stuff I make :D.
I imagine them as transparent single blocks you can place in the background that lets colored light in, and it lets you see the background of the planet a bit.

There wont be foreground blocks .

What do you mean there wont be foreground blocks, I don't really understand.

Is means there wont be foreground blocks.. Blocks that you can like walk behind.

If you check out my idea ( http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/plavium.5831/)
it describes how if the organism leaves the ore, what is left is a window shaped ore, with what looks like stained glass in the centre

Oh, that's not what I meant, my apologies, I was referring to the ones you place and build with.

If you are talking about the color of the windows, it's because of the background.

Oh you mean a layer between the game character and the player?

  19. KuraiRyuu

Yes, it will not be in the game.

I like the idea; stained glass is something that's been lacking in sandbox building games, so I'd love to see it in game.

    Also, uh.. what's FC?
